Anyone interested?

Dennis Seidenberg has been informed he will be bought out by the Bruins. Good left shot D on the market.

We already employ Dennis Seidenberg, he just goes by Josh Gorges while in a Buffalo uniform.

If McDavid is smart he'll sign an offer sheet that's a 4 year deal once he's eligible. Edmonton will match it for sure but that will still set him up to reach UFA status after the minimum 7 years and he'll be able to punch his ticket basically anywhere. He'll be the best UFA ever at the age of 25.

Interesting.

And if he continues his trajectory, an offer of around $15 million per year likely would be matched by EDM, but put them in a big bind. The trick is that the offer sheeting team likely wouldn't want him just signed for 4 years either, but they could later extend him.

Would be smarter to offer him 3 years. He wants out of Edmonton & would go arbitration in 4th year & then out if he's back there. (Could always re-offer sheet him then also but to a 1 yr deal, so when Eulers match, he'll be UFA the following year anyway.)

If the offer sheet weren't matched by the Eulers, the team that signed him would have 2 years to get a LT deal done; the last year of the 3 yr deal & then that last year of RFA status. (Assumes he doesn't get another offer sheet, but now the team that gave him the original offer sheet gets to match or take the 4-1's.) If they give him 4 year deal, only have 1 year to get the deal worked out before he's UFA.

Note: this is from signing team's perspective, not McClavicle's. Though, assuming no career ending injury in yrs 1-3, this nets him the most money as well & still has him out of Edmonton at 25.

Maybe Jackman, depending on what else the Sabres do in the next few days?

Interesting...do we know this as a near certainty or is it speculation?

Another solid Risto comparable.

Not really.   Krug is 4 years older, and has 3 seasons in a row of +40 points and is a cumulative +40 over the past 3 seasons.

Risto only has a 20 point season and a 40 point season thus far is a combined -53 over the past 2 seasons.

This is fair, but at the same time they are both good, young, all-around defensemen who are/were RFAs.

I agree that Krug's numbers justify a higher contract than Risto's do.

I agree Risto's upside is very close to a Torrey Krug, but he's not quite at that level yet, which makes it seem like a bridge deal is in the best interest of both parties.

Speculation & following from Drunkard's premise.

IF he wants to stay there his whole career, that's an option for him. But even Ryan Smyth had to get the #### out of Dodge for a few years. ;)

Yep. If HE got out for a few, what's that say for a kid that didn't grow up in the middle of nowhere?

From Craig Custance

Several teams calling on Patrick Wiercioch, who may provide value on July 1. Could be worth a shot on guy trying re-establish himself.
