Thorner Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 We desperately need wingers now. Our wings are atrocious I think Okposo and Reinhart are great wingers. Not so confident with the left side. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Awww, Flagg. It's adorable that that's your recollection of events.Haha what's yours? Quote

Randall Flagg Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Everyone and their cat wants Fowler on this team. There were a few incredibly vocal anti-Fowler people, as well as people that didn't want to pay most hypothetical prices, and certainly not any realistic ones Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 Rumor: The Ducks are keen to get a good young player and a pick for Fowler. They will have to move him to get Lindholm under contract. Detroit, Buffalo, Toronto, basically half the east is rumored to be kicking the tires.  I do not think Buffalo has the ability to make this deal. I don't think Zemgus has enough value and I think we should keep Nylander. I would like Fowler in Buffalo but I don't see the players needed to pull it off. Baptiste and Picks isn't going to do it. Quote
Hoss Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Would anybody here be willing to give Nylander up if the Ducks were sending Fowler and Silfverberg our way? Obviously we'd still need to add something to that. Quote

I am with Blue.  Nylander is the perfect compliment to our top 6 maybe as early as next year. He can skate with Jack or ROR and fit right in. Quote

You get a solid middle-six forward, a good young prospect, and a pick, all of which are cheap (and Girgensons is easy trade deadline bait). Maybe its a d-prospect instead of a forward, but I don't think that's terrible value either way. Quote

I think they are looking more like Fasching/Bailey, Nylander for Fowler.  If Boston didn't draft like a pile of garbage on fire being doused in napalm then they would be a good trade partner because they could use Fowler but they suck. WildCard Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Fasching + Girgs + 2018 1st? Edited October 20, 2016 by WildCard Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 Fasching + Girgs + 2018 1st?Maybe but I doubt it. Girgs has really low value right now Quote
WildCard Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Maybe but I doubt it. Girgs has really low value right nowTrue, but those are two players that fit Anaheim to a tee, and they're both extremely cheap Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 True. I think if Anaheim continues to be mediocre it could happen but lots of teams are tire kicking Quote
PartyZombies Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 No. I like Silfverberg, but he's really just a nice player and nothing more. If they want Nylander, I want Lindolm. Â Exactly. I don't even have a ton of interest for Fowler with the price tag they want anyway and I'm willing to bet neither does GMTM or we wouldn't have Kulikov. Granted the Ducks may be more willing to drop the price to help sign Lindholm, but I'd rather just offer sheet Lindholm than have Fowler. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 It's also worth noting we're only at about $1.7M in cap space. Just acquiring Fowler would require some maneuvering, but if we tack Silfverberg on top of that, we'd need to find about $6M in space. Given the Ducks' cap situation, a 3rd team would have to be involved. Quote
dudacek Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Give them Kane Something very Marie Antoinette about this. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Give them Kane  This helps them fit Lindolm under the cap...how? ;) Quote
WildCard Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Something very Marie Antoinette about this.I believe she never actually said that ;)This helps them fit Lindolm under the cap...how? ;)How much is Fowler right now? Kane is what? $5M? Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 I believe she never actually said that ;) How much is Fowler right now? Kane is what? $5M? Fowler is 4. You would have to take a cap dump and retain 50% of Kane's salary to even start this. Further Kane is injured and most GM's won't trade for an injured player Quote
