I'd like Vermette here as a depth addition. Hope we're one of the teams.

We have good enough third and fourth centers.  No need to spend a penny on him.

Agreed, I don't want to go near him. We have enough vets for the whole character aspect, leave that roster spot open for one of the youngins so we don't end up like TB and have every single ElC burn out in the same year

Who is our 4th center?

Larsson if Vesey signs

Assuming Girgensons is on the roster, eh? :p

Are you kidding?  The Sabs have three starting-caliber centers under the age of 25, FFS.

Reinhart is a RW.

(He will be, whether you like it or not)

Buffalo Sabres centers... ROR, Eichel, Reinhart Larsson, Girgensons, Cal O'Reilly... I am feel confident one of them can play 4th line center in the NHL. If not sign Legwand to 1 more year. Don't go chasing Vermette for more money than he's worth.

Vermette is better than either of Legwand/COR.

For the foreseeable future or for next year?

And how much does he cost for how many years?

A roster spot that should go to someone else Edited by WildCard

Not sure. I think a lot depends on how Bailey/Fasching develop.

Really? I would think it more depends on if he ends up better than ROR.

He could play LW too. We're not exactly stacked there either.

Don't worry, we'll be getting better this week ;)

That is exactly why moving Reinhart to center at some point makes sense.

ROR - Reinhart - Okposo

LW (Nylander, Kane, Ennis, Zemgus, Vesey) - Eichel - Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching/Nylander

Foligno - Larsson - Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching

Thing is, how will we ever know? Can you envision a scenario where (sans ROR injury), he gets any real time at center to see?

Have you seen how DB does lines? I am surprised Lehner hasn't played Center at this point.

And through all of it, there were two stalwarts: ROR and Eichel in the middle. Even during ROR's injury, Reinhart got what, two games in the middle?

Who the hell was the 2nd center during that stretch?
