Story soon on @AZSports Allan Walsh @walsha Aug 13 Antoine Vermette has received 5 offers from NHL teams and will be making a decision on the various offers by Monday.
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 I'd like Vermette here as a depth addition. Hope we're one of the teams.
Eleven Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 I'd like Vermette here as a depth addition. Hope we're one of the teams. We have good enough third and fourth centers. No need to spend a penny on him.
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 We have good enough third and fourth centers. No need to spend a penny on him. Who is our 4th center?
WildCard Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 We have good enough third and fourth centers. No need to spend a penny on him.Agreed, I don't want to go near him. We have enough vets for the whole character aspect, leave that roster spot open for one of the youngins so we don't end up like TB and have every single ElC burn out in the same year Who is our 4th center?Larsson if Vesey signs
Eleven Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Who is our 4th center? Are you kidding? The Sabs have three starting-caliber centers under the age of 25, FFS.

The Sabs have three starting-caliber centers under the age of 25, FFS. Reinhart is a RW. *ducks* (He will be, whether you like it or not)
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Buffalo Sabres centers... ROR, Eichel, Reinhart Larsson, Girgensons, Cal O'Reilly... I am feel confident one of them can play 4th line center in the NHL. If not sign Legwand to 1 more year. Don't go chasing Vermette for more money than he's worth.
Eleven Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Assuming Girgensons is on the roster, eh? :P Reinhart is a RW. *ducks* (He will be, whether you like it or not) You're right. The Sabres have four starting-caliber centers under the age of 25.

Vermette is better than either of Legwand/COR.
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Vermette is better than either of Legwand/COR. And how much does he cost for how many years?
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 And how much does he cost for how many years? 1 year $3 mil? I think he'll be cheap.
WildCard Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Assuming Girgensons is on the roster, eh? :p Reinhart is a RW. *ducks* (He will be, whether you like it or not) For the foreseeable future or for next year? And how much does he cost for how many years?A roster spot that should go to someone else Edited August 15, 2016 by WildCard
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 For the foreseeable future or for next year? A roster spot that should go to someone else Not sure. I think a lot depends on how Bailey/Fasching develop.
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Not sure. I think a lot depends on how Bailey/Fasching develop. Don't forget Nylander.
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Don't forget Nylander. He could play LW too. We're not exactly stacked there either.
WildCard Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Not sure. I think a lot depends on how Bailey/Fasching develop.Really? I would think it more depends on if he ends up better than ROR.He could play LW too. We're not exactly stacked there either.Don't worry, we'll be getting better this week ;)
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 He could play LW too. We're not exactly stacked there either. That is exactly why moving Reinhart to center at some point makes sense. ROR - Reinhart - Okposo LW (Nylander, Kane, Ennis, Zemgus, Vesey) - Eichel - Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching/Nylander Foligno - Larsson - Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Really? I would think it more depends on if he ends up better than ROR. Thing is, how will we ever know? Can you envision a scenario where (sans ROR injury), he gets any real time at center to see?
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Thing is, how will we ever know? Can you envision a scenario where (sans ROR injury), he gets any real time at center to see? Have you seen how DB does lines? I am surprised Lehner hasn't played Center at this point.
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Have you seen how DB does lines? I am surprised Lehner hasn't played Center at this point. And through all of it, there were two stalwarts: ROR and Eichel in the middle. Even during ROR's injury, Reinhart got what, two games in the middle?
WildCard Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 And through all of it, there were two stalwarts: ROR and Eichel in the middle. Even during ROR's injury, Reinhart got what, two games in the middle?Who the hell was the 2nd center during that stretch?
Eleven Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Have you seen how DB does lines? I am surprised Lehner hasn't played Center at this point. He wasn't healthy enough.
TrueBlueGED Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Who the hell was the 2nd center during that stretch? Believe it was Girgensons, with the Larsson line getting more time.
LGR4GM Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 And Samson was what 25 games into his NHL career at that point. I think this year the go to backup for ROR will be Reinhart.
