pi2000 Posted July 28, 2016 Report Posted July 28, 2016 24hrs to go before Barrie's arbitration hearing. tick-tock If it gets there, I'll say he gets awarded $5.1-5-5 mil and COL chooses a 2 year deal. The hope is they award him 6 or 6+ which COL might balk at.
pi2000 Posted July 28, 2016 Report Posted July 28, 2016 Looks like ARI and Stone settled on a 1 year $4mil deal, so they avoid arbitration. Only 2 arbitration hearings still on schedule... Tyson Barrie 7/29 and Martin Marincin 8/02.
beerme1 Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Only 2 arbitration hearings still on schedule... Tyson Barrie 7/29 How long till they announce the result?
Two or less Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Nashville got Calle Jarkrok for six years at $2 mill per. That's a great AAV for the team. Long term for a guy like him but worth getting the big discount. Speaking if Nashville, did you guys see they launched their own "capgeek" type page on their web site? http://predators.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=88111&navid=DL|NSH|home Wonder if all NHL teams will have one once the league re-designs all the club websites in September?

That Aud Smell Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) Oh, Bobby Ryan. God bless you, sir. What a beautiful tribute to his mom, here: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/bobby-ryan-dear-mom/ I made the dubious choice to read this while on the can at work. There's now someone in my building who probably thinks I went into that stall to cry. Edited July 29, 2016 by That Aud Smell
dudacek Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Damn... I need more of those stories. So does the world.

Thanks for linking that incredible tribute by a son to his mother.
pi2000 Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Marincin settles with TOR for 2 yrs at 1.25. I would expect the arbiters decision on Tyson Barrie to be announced sometime tomorrow.
That Aud Smell Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Thanks for linking that incredible tribute by a son to his mother. And when I read it, I didn't know a thing about the "other" stuff to which he alludes as being common knowledge (re his dad being a nightmare).

Hoss Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Tyson Barrie and COL sign a four-year deal with a $5.5M AAV
pi2000 Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Tyson Barrie and COL sign a four-year deal with a $5.5M AAV That's a fair deal IMO, which would put Risto in the 4.5-5.0 range for the same term.
Huckleberry Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 That's a fair deal IMO, which would put Risto in the 4.5-5.0 range for the same term. I'd still pay Risto more than 5.5 if he signs an 8 year deal.
Huckleberry Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Vermette has been bought out by the yotes. They must think they don't have a spot for him with Strome and Dvorak probably coming up. Might be nice to add him in a legwand kind of role.
dudacek Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Move didn't make much sense to me on the surface.
Sabel79 Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Arizona looking to have as much dead cap space as mathematically possible.
Hoss Posted August 1, 2016 Author Report Posted August 1, 2016 Have to think this is a mutual breakup. I would love to add Vermette as a vet, especially if we don't land Vesey
dudacek Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Dude is great on faceoffs, can play up higher in the lineup short-term if injuries hit. He's like Legwand, but better. Can't really think of a better 4th-line center option.

bunomatic Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Bit of shootout fun from Mother Russia: https://www.instagram.com/p/BIfonuShZe8/ That could have gone horribly wrong.
Doohicksie Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Amazeballz. Have to think this is a mutual breakup. I would love to add Vermette as a vet, especially if we don't land Vesey He was pretty universally hated over on the 'yotes forum. Viewed much the same as we view Moulson, perhaps worse.
Huckleberry Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Vermette was our worst foward for a good part of the season. He has lost 2 or 3 steps in the last year or so and he isn't nearly as good defensively as he once was. Obviously on paper it looks like he had a decent year but most his points came on the power play. He no longer is a solid penalty killer and he was absolutely brutal 5 on 5 before Tangauy came over at the deadline. If Strome or Dvorak comes in and plays up to even half of their potential then we are in a much better position without Vermette. Vermette has declined to a 4th line f/o specialist. Don't let the point totals fool you! Got this quote from HF boards, seems Legwand is the better option if true :p
K-9 Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Got this quote from HF boards, seems Legwand is the better option if true :p I'd take Legwand for another year. We could certainly do worse. He was another coach out there; always talking and instructing. GO SABRES!!!
