Randall Flagg Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Will Benn's style of play hold up into his mid-30s well?
WildCard Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 As somebody who wanted Stamkos: Benn is worth $2 million more, minimum.ElI agree
Huckleberry Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Matthews contract still not signed, read that Lamoriello doesn't like to hand out Bonuses with ELC contracts. And that is why its not signed yet.
That Aud Smell Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Matthews contract still not signed, read that Lamoriello doesn't like to hand out Bonuses with ELC contracts. And that is why its not signed yet. If true: Hooo boy.
Hoss Posted July 16, 2016 Author Report Posted July 16, 2016 Lou is a fossil. What a grumpy old loser.
pi2000 Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 I realize this has nothing to do with Matthew's being greedy, but I still find it hilarious.
3putt Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 I find it ironic that NJ was never a destination for FAs in large part due to the Lou effect. Yet TO seems to think he is a drawing card for the organization. No doubt he had success but I wonder if he is still relevant

Norcal Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Weren't Toews and Kane's contracts around that when they were re-signed after becoming RFA's?YesLou is a fossil. What a grumpy old loser.Love it, the queefs
Randall Flagg Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 It is worth pointing out that at this time two years ago, Ekblad was still over a month away from signing his elc, and I don't think Crosby signed until September.
PromoTheRobot Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Bryan Mudryk @BryanMudryk 14h14 hours ago Mike Babcock bringing in big $$$ during golf auction in the Soo! Congrats to @TeamBradJacobs on a wonderful event! @PromoTheRobot 18m18 minutes ago @BryanMudryk @DarrenDreger @TeamBradJacobs Did Mike Babcock tell one bidder they won but then sold the item to someone else?
Sabel79 Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Probably shouldn't have, but I laughed out loud at that one, Promo.
Hoss Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Posted July 17, 2016 Tim Wharnsby @TimWharnsby Alex Killorn & #TBLightning settle: 7 yrs at $4.45m/season. I like Killorn but that's a big bet on him. That's similar to the deal Kyle Palmieri got in New Jersey and he just put up 30 goals.
TrueBlueGED Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 (edited) One Palat please GMTM You'd think they'd have to move somebody other than Bishop, right? Of course, getting Hedman and Stamkos under market value helps. Edited July 17, 2016 by TrueBlueGED
Hoss Posted July 17, 2016 Author Report Posted July 17, 2016 Remember when Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf's contracts were nearly up and everybody assumed the Ducks would either lose one or dismantle the roster? They both ended up signing extensions that totaled 28.1% of the cap at the time. Stamkos and Hedman have signed extensions that total 22.4% of the cap. The only big casualty in Anaheim, unless I'm missing something, was Bobby Ryan... But then Anaheim turned around and added Ryan Kesler, too. I think Tampa Bay knows the spot they're in and Yzerman+ are managing it beautifully.
WildCard Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) What about Selanne and Progner coming off the books? Or was that prior? Edited July 18, 2016 by WildCard

Really curious to see where Kucherov ends up at--that's the potential budget buster IMO.
Hoss Posted July 18, 2016 Author Report Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) What about Selanne and Progner coming off the books? Or was that prior? Selanne's last year was the first year of their deals. He only had a $2 million cap hit, though. Pronger hadn't played for Anaheim for five years by the time Perry and Getzlaf extended. Edited July 18, 2016 by Hoss
Rasmus_ Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) The Killorn contract is a little absurd. He seemed like the most reasonable to let go. But, hey let them add another to the books. Edited July 18, 2016 by TheCerebral1

North Buffalo Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Ranger fans not happy.... Not sure what to think, both quality players just not sure what strangers accomplish with this trade?
Sabel79 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Brassard counts about twice as much against the cap. Rangers get space. Not sure what Ottawa's reasoning is.
