WildCard Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 3m3 minutes ago As we discussed on Sportscentre...and really no surprise, consider Lucic and Eriksson high priority for Canucks. They want at least 1 of 2. Good move, if there's one thing the Canucks need, it's more veterans past their prime. Benning truly is a moron. He's going to compete with Sakic soon enough Edited June 23, 2016 by WildCard Quote
Eleven Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Benning truly is a ###### moron. He's going to compete with Sakic soon enough Oh, they're already in their own special league with Snow. They compete for the John Ferguson, Jr. Award. I think they're giving that out tonight. Quote

K-9 Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 I think Yandle and Bogo would make a good combo. There isn't a bunker big enough. GO SABRES!!! Quote

kas23 Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 So, he's bunker worthy? I don't need reasons to hate him, I need reasons to like him. I'd like an offensive QB, too, but not at the expense of playing good defense. GO SABRES!!! Not directed at you, but someone has to help me out with these "offensive" defenseman vs "defensive" defenseman. I really don't understand why we would need a defenseman to produce offense for us when we already have offensive players? Why exactly would we need a defenseman to run our PP? Quote
dudacek Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Eichel will score a lot more goals with Fowler making breakout passes and joining the rush instead Gorges. For the latter question I think it's as simple as Shattenkirk plays the point better than Ennis Quote

I really don't understand why we would need a defenseman to produce offense for us when we already have offensive players? Why exactly would we need a defenseman to run our PP? Allow me to reverse this for a moment: do you care about how well your forwards play defense? Why should forwards play defense when you have defensemen? As Dudacek just said, puck moving defensemen make the forwards' job easier. Hockey is synergistic--neither defensemen nor forwards play in a vacuum without the other. If you're a forward, would you rather get a pass in stride in the neutral zone or lug the puck yourself from the corner of your own zone every rush? Puck moving defensemen help flip the ice, make fast transition to play with an aggressive forecheck, and put pressure on the other team. Look at how Pittsburgh played--they dominated possession and won the Cup by breaking out of their own zone at light speed and putting the other team on its heels. Can't do that icing a bunch of Josh Gorges-esque defenders. Quote

WildCard Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I'm not sure Yandle helps us keep the puck out of the net any better than we presently do.It's not about keeping it out of the net, it's about moving it up to your forwards. Karlsson keeps the puck out of his net by always being in the other teams end Edited June 23, 2016 by WildCard Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 LeBrun: Keith Yandle has agreed to terms with the Florida Panthers: seven years and $6.35 million average per season Alright, despite the fact Yandle was my #1 target this offseason...I'm glad we didn't do that. Quote

dudacek Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I'd rather overpay for Stamkos than Yandle because Stamkos - even now - is a world class player. Yandle is not. Edited June 23, 2016 by dudacek Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2016 Author Report Posted June 23, 2016 Panthers have confirmed. NMC in first six years, limited NTC in the seventh. Quote

beerme1 Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 I think I'm going to start sounding like an agent from now on. The offer you gave us of 12 million per year is inconceivable. We're looking for more. me already. Quote
Thorner Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 LeBrun: Keith Yandle has agreed to terms with the Florida Panthers: seven years and $6.35 million average per season That's a bad deal for Florida. I know they have Jagr, but not everyone maintains a high level of play into their senior years. Yandle will be 37 at the end of the deal. I wanted Yandle, but not at that price. Even still, the two best FA D are off the board. Interested to see what we do. Quote
pi2000 Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Wasn't very high on Yandle. He's poor defending in his end. Would rather have Fowler, who isn't great in his own end either, but he's a better skater, and thats something Buffalo is missing on the back end. And he's only 24, and has a friendly contract. Quote
