Eleven Posted June 5, 2016 Author Report Posted June 5, 2016 Do the Sharks use the Current Affair sound after every goal? Because they definitely used this tonight: Quote
... Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 That shot launched off a Pens' skate, but it was still pretty. Quote
Thorner Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Get drastically outplayed every game, rely on a late seeing eye, long shot goal to tie. Only down by one game now. It's a bold strategy, Cotton. We'll see if it pays off. Quote
Taro T Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I was just enjoying all the "Dumbo D'oh" is the greatest passer EVER talk after he put the puck off the D's skate close enough that he could grab it WITHOUT tearing his groin. A lesser passer would've gone for either the less obvious tear the groin skate pass or the even more pedestrian tape to tape pass. <_< Quote
Stoner Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Pure joy from Doc on the shittsburgh goal Thanks. This gives me cover to go into a semi-paranoid rant. Why does the league's broadcast partner have to assign a "home team" to every final? It's oh so clear they are favoring Pittsburgh. Why? Why in the hell? Don't they realize how unfair it is to the "road team" and its fans? Doc coud barely muster a "score" on the Sharks' winner and Eddie O. sounded pretty bummed out. It's so unprofessional. Yes, it's on the subtle side. I'm not suggesting it's Rick and Rob doing a Sabres game. It just irks me. I think back to Gary Thorne's calls of Sabres games in 99. He just never mustered as much enthusiasm for Buffalo goals as he did their opponents' goals. He just ripped his head off for those Dallas goals. Buffalo, not so much. Quote

LTS Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Do they legitimately love the Pens or are they told they need to come across that way? Never trust TV land... I just can't. The psychology of broadcasting and marketing is far too deep to believe anything. It takes a rare soul to turn down the kind of money and exposure that the NBC broadcast team is getting if they are also being asked to play it up for one side. Quote
WildCard Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Hertl out again tonight Metallica playing the National Anthem tonight Quote

ubkev Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 #thingsIthoughtI'dneverhear Saw 'em in 92, Woodstock 99, and again in 2009. I figured they'd be playing National Anthems by 2016. Quote
inkman Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 Hertl out again tonight Metallica playing the National Anthem tonight I didn't think it was their best effort. Hatfield didn't need to be there. It was weird and awkward. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 Roman Polak is dreadfulI listened to Craig Rivet claim that he was the key addition to that team to get them this far, a week or so ago on Hockey Hotline. That guy is obsessed with dreadfully slow defensemen. Talked for way too long about Cody Franson another day. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 So, at this point, does Pillsbury deserve the Conn Smythe? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 So, at this point, does Pillsbury deserve the Conn Smythe?Yeah.Man, it's like the hands of all the Sharks have been replaced with those of Nic Deslauriers. Quote
Hoss Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 What in the world happened to Joe Pavelski? Quote
... Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 This is diss appointing. I thought this would be a series, weighted slightly in SJ's favour. Instead, we have this. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 They are receiving passes and handling pucks worse than most of Sabrespace can.. Quote
ubkev Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 San Jose is not playing good hockey. Nope nope nope. Quote
sodbuster Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 This isn't the Sharks team of the regular season, or even the first round. Even though they won the series, they haven't looked the same since getting smacked by the Blues at home. Quote
Eleven Posted June 7, 2016 Author Report Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) They are receiving passes and handling pucks worse than most of Sabrespace can.. To be fair, the passes to be received are way off the mark. This isn't Stafford refusing to extend his stick. The Sabres could win this series. Yes, but there'd be a last-minute staph infection or something. Edited June 7, 2016 by Eleven Quote
