WildCard Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 OT advertising pays 1.5x Jones did everything he could do Killed it  There is no advertising in OT. Anyway. That call may have benefitted the Pens after all; they could just shoot at the open net from their own end with impunity. Joke, guys. That was a joke It's not about the goals scored, it's about the scoring chances. ....and sending a message? Quote
LTS Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 What a play by Burns. It's hard to hate this Pens team. I'll have to give myself more credit for being able to hate the Pens given how hard it is to do so. Cool.. go me! :) It's not about the goals scored, it's about the scoring chances. Sounds like something said when justifying a soccer match. :) (I like soccer FWIW). Quote
Eleven Posted June 2, 2016 Author Report Posted June 2, 2016 Bonino--assist tonight so far--killing it. I love role players killing it. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 I have two observations. 1) I still like this Sharks team. However, I think I may love this Pens team. *takes shower* 2) While watching the Pens really take it to San Jose, I find myself concerned about our own overall team speed. Quote

Eleven Posted June 2, 2016 Author Report Posted June 2, 2016 Anyone here honestly see the Pens playing like this before the playoffs? Only the guy who picked 'em to win in his bracket. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Anyone here honestly see the Pens playing like this before the playoffs? Yes. They've arguably been the best team in the league since the coaching change. Hagelin and Letang aren't really available this offseason ;) Man, Hagelin got traded twice recently! Twice! Quote
... Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Yes. They've arguably been the best team in the league since the coaching change. I heard that going in, but didn't expect to see them play such a dominant game, especially in the finals. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 I heard that going in, but didn't expect to see them play such a dominant game, especially in the finals. Yea, I'm genuinely surprised just how much they're controlling the games against San Jose. Quote

However, I think I may love this Pens team. *takes shower* 2) While watching the Pens really take it to San Jose, I find myself concerned about our own overall team speed. I've been thinking about point #2 as well. Jack can skate, Evander has good speed, not much else there. Then again, I'd argue that 3 of Pittsburgh's 6 best skaters weren't there last year, so it can be fixed. I'm really leaning on Bailey becoming an offensive force. He seemed to be able to play at speed and has a lot of physical tools. Would be huge for us if he develops into a dangerous NHL player. Quote
Taro T Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 I heard that going in, but didn't expect to see them play such a dominant game, especially in the finals. Not w/ Murray looking like he was going to be out to start the playoffs. Did they ever say why he has the Denis Herron tribute mask? Quote

WildCard Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Reminds me a lot of the Caos series so far I've been thinking about point #2 as well. Jack can skate, Evander has good speed, not much else there. Then again, I'd argue that 3 of Pittsburgh's 6 best skaters weren't there last year, so it can be fixed. Our defense is just so much slower too Quote
Randall Flagg Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Girgensons and Ennis can move too. Of course, they may not be around for our eventual run, so....Ennis can skate, but I actually think he's below average at puck control and playmaking when he's at high speeds, which is what Pittsburgh is really good at. Quote
Taro T Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Girgensons and Ennis can move too. Of course, they may not be around for our eventual run, so.... A big part of the reason I'd like to see Girgensons spend some time on Eichel's wing w/ either Reinhart, Fasching, or FNG. Really feel he could be Jack's Renberg. Quote
Eleven Posted June 2, 2016 Author Report Posted June 2, 2016 Dammit, SJ, if you were going to do that, you could have done it an hour ago. I'm not up for OT tonight. Goodnight. Quote
WildCard Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Logan Couture is so good. He's evolved so much. Someone on the NBC broadcast earlier in the playoffs compared his game to someone like ROR or Bergeron Edited June 2, 2016 by WildCard Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Ennis can skate, but I actually think he's below average at puck control and playmaking when he's at high speeds, which is what Pittsburgh is really good at. Good point. Similar concerns with Kane. A big part of the reason I'd like to see Girgensons spend some time on Eichel's wing w/ either Reinhart, Fasching, or FNG. Really feel he could be Jack's Renberg. Agreed. Give me Girgensons-Eichel for a solid 20-30 games to start the year please. Dammit, SJ, if you were going to do that, you could have done it an hour ago. I'm not up for OT tonight. Goodnight. You're just cranky this raises the chances your bracket loses to a statistic :nana: That pass from Letang that nearly sprang Kessel :o Quote
WildCard Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Lets see if the momentum shifts.Looks like it has. Pittsburgh has done this before; they lost to TB not ben a minute into OT after giving up a gt goal late. They also beat Washington early in OT under the same circumstances as well Quote
Norcal Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Ha the Penguins fans hate these refs What a scramble Quote
