Taro T Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 Seriously wonder why GMTM didn't get prince from uncle b. A 3rd round pick is all it took and the Sabres have plenty of them this year. He's on the small side but produced decent stats at the end of the regular season for the Isles too. The 2nd bolded goes a long way towards answering the 1st. Quote
Brawndo Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) By the way, the last time there was a Game Seven in the first round and the start of another series on the same day was April 24, 1983. This happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAo46-Rpqiw Brad ###### Park :wallbash: Edited April 28, 2016 by BRAWNDO Quote

darksabre Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 That was not the period Tampa needed. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I was wondering when I'd hear the first 'he didn't play well because of the time off in between rounds' cliche. Sometime early into tomorrow's games we'll hear 'he's playing well because of the extra time off' cliche. Gotta keep your head on a swivel in the wheelhouse if you literally want to create time and space in the dirty areas and get grade A scoring chances. Quote

Kruppstahl Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Turn your head, Rammer. The freaking Brad Park goal. Remember watching that at the time. It hurt then and it hurts now! Quote
Claude_Verret Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Fuggin Brad Park. And why couldn't Andre Savard move a step to his left and take that one to his junk? I seem to remember that was an afternoon start for that game maybe? I know I began watching one game that series at school after we talked (berated) our teacher into letting us watch. Quote

It was a Sunday afternoon game. Game 2 was on a Friday afternoon, and the Bruins won after the Sabres had beaten them the night before. I got out of school early to watch it. It was a crazy series. The Bruins won Game 5 9-0, but the Sabres tied the series at home to force a deciding game. Edited April 28, 2016 by PASabreFan Quote

The Celtics had a playoff game at home that day as well, and the Sabres-Bruins Game was moved to the afternoon as a result. Quote

One of the math teachers had reserved a TV for his room for the afternoon Game 2. Never seen so many people sneaking INTO math class! Quote
Brawndo Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I was in 5th grade Catholic School. There where three rooms for 5th Grade and the only teacher who had the game on in her room was a Nun Paul Gaustaud sighting Quote
Iron Crotch Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Paul Gaustaud sighting Goose! ...although technically this should be in the First Round thread. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 The shot that hit the crossbar just now for the Ducks was Jamie McGinn. He has looked good the whole series. I wouldn't hate to see him back in a Sabres uniform next season. Quote

Wyldnwoody44 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Report Posted April 28, 2016 I can't believe Anaheim is gonna lose this series. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Weak call on James Neal. But, he has a reputation with the refs (not unlike Perry's reputation). Quote
pastajoe Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Listening to Preds radio broadcast. Pete Weber said, "It's 11 o'clock, do you know where your children are?". Then mentioned Irv Weinstein. Quote
WildCard Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Not sure there is anyway Anaheim lets Hampus go. He is way too good Quote
Iron Crotch Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Three straight calls against the small market team, at least two of the marginal variety. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Wait until you see the penalties they miss when Nashville goes for an empty netter. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Getzlaf and Perry have been pretty awful this series. The Ducks are being carried by Perron, Kessler, McGuinn and their solid d-corp. Quote
WildCard Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Well, my bracket is officially screwed Quote
