matter2003
Detroit moved back into the playoffs by virtue of leapfrogging Boston for 3rd place in the division, with each team having 3 games left. Philadelphia holds the last wild card spot with 91 points, and a game in hand on both those teams, so they control their own destiny as well. Boston is currently on the outside looking in after having been a near lock to make the playoffs all season...they trail the Red Wings and Flyers by a point...unless Philly really screws up, they will likely get the last wildcard spot meaning it comes down to who will end up in the 3rd spot to automatically make the playoffs between Detroit and Boston...very intriguing and a great mini-playoff feel to get things started... Boston's schedule is easier. Filly has one against the Penguins, whom they have not beaten in exactly one year. Both of them play Detroit, but Boston has games against Ottawa and Carolina while Filly has the Islanders, Pens (aforementioned) and Isles. Detroit's remaining game is against the Rangers. I'd say it's Boston who has to "really screw up" to miss it.

Buffalo Wings
As I put in the other thread, I really wish there was a way they both could miss. Can all three of them miss?
Eleven
Can all three of them miss? Only if there's a world war or an outbreak of Spanish flu, I think.

Taro T
Can all three of them miss? Nope. It's possible that all 3 get in (easiest way is Isles collapse) but nobody else below those can still mathematically get there. And for whatever it's worth, sportsclubstats gives Detroit a 40% chance of being outside looking in, Bah-staan a 38% chance, Filly 21%, & the Isles a 1% chance. (Rags & TB the other 2 that haven't yet clinched.)
Cereal
Also, ONE of Detroit and Boston must get in (third place in Atlantic Division). So Philly just needs to beat out one of them in order to get in.
Wyldnwoody44
Man, I hate all 3 of those teams, I think Philly is the toughest out of the

Doohicksie
Dylan Larkin isn't the only dynamic rookie the Red Wings have. They also have Andreas Athanasiou who has amazing speed and a good scoring touch. By and large the Wings are an aging team but the youth they have is very, very good.
