I'd heard that on Friday but not that it may have been self inflicted. Sad . R.I.P.

at this rate classic rocks icons will all be gone within a few short years. Heck most of those guys are pushing 70.

I remember seeing ELP in CNE Stadium, had to be '77-'79. Truly amazing, especially Carl Palmer. Might have been last concert that alcohol was only drug of choice.

Yes they were one of the many bands I saw in my misspent youth. Although I would argue it was not misspent but foundation to who I am. This is the show I saw them in high school.

Went to all of the first 3 stadium fests. Oh and tailgating was mandatory back then.

Classy man. Exemplified the ideals of a much different generation than today.

My $0.02 Carl Palmer is the greatest drummer since Gene Krupa. Emerson was a part of that greatness.

I saw them open for Jethro Tull at Darien Lake in the mid-90s. We were poor college (and HS) kids so we planned on sitting in the grass outside the fence and listening until one of my friends went up and found the exit door wasn't latched. We all walked in and took up spots in the middle of the grass "outfield". Great show!
