inkman Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 It's the NHL, nothing makes sense including the outcome of games. Quote
Eleven Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 For those so inclined, Yandle is worth scouting tonight as he's a person of interest in the upcoming UFA season. My sense is that he's not a GMTM kinda guy, but I could be out to lunch on that. I want a Yandle type when this team is one Yandle type away from a Cup. I don't want the team to overpay for him now. I don't have the confidence that others do. When was the last time the Rangers didn't run us over? The future starts now. Quote
pi2000 Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Against one of their backups it is. I think the Rags are perfectly mediocre without Lundqvist. Well, mediocre is still better than Buffalo at the moment (sans O'Reilly, Ennis, and 5 million dollar version of Matt Moulson). Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Last time I did that I made a metaphorical cheating wife in the name of Buffalo sports, not sure anyone wants to read that again  Maybe the married folk didn't care for it, but I found it delightful  Quote
clintwestwood Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Well, mediocre is still better than Buffalo at the moment (sans O'Reilly, Ennis, and 5 million dollar version of Matt Moulson). So Reinhart, Eichel, Kane, Risto, and Lehner are all mediocre. Got it. Quote
GoPre Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Eichel has 29 points in his last 33 games. Went flat when O'Reilly went down, but he's picked it back up the last few games. Reinharts helper the other night was sweet. Gotta like Eich. Edited March 8, 2016 by GoPre Quote

Beer Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 I don't have the confidence that others do. When was the last time the Rangers didn't run us over? If my memory serves me correct, Brassard had a massive night the last meeting. Need to shut him down along with Zuccarello. The Sabres have beat quality teams so it wouldn't surprise me if they get the W tonight against a depleted Rangers team. Quote
clintwestwood Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 24th place < mediocre So by that logic Ennis and Moulson are worse than the players I mentioned because of the team's record last year. Quote

MattPie Posted March 8, 2016 Author Report Posted March 8, 2016 24th place < mediocre It seems to me that being better than six teams, or 20% of the league, is pretty much the definition of mediocre. As in, "barely adequate". Bad, medicore, OK, good, top-shelf, each in six-team blocks. Quote

Mustache of God Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Looking through stats on the internet it does appear that the Rangers have had our number recently: http://sabreshockeycentral.com/sabres-vs-rangers-all-time/ The Sabres have won only 4 of the last 18 contests the last victory coming on 3/12/13, almost 3 years to the day. In the 8 games since, the Sabres have only scored more than 1 goal in two of those games. Here's to ending this ###### streak, it's a new era! GO SABRES! edit: this doesn't include the playoff series where we beat them, regular season stats only. Edited March 8, 2016 by mustacheofgod Quote
Mustache of God Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 I don't see the Sabres winning this one. Even with the injuries the Rangers still managed to take down the Capitals the other night. Quote
pi2000 Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Yes, but beatable. With Lundqvist, forget it. Every team is beatable, this is the NHL not the NBA or NFL. That said, I won't be shocked if Buffalo wins, but I will be pleasantly surprised because the Rangers have proven throughout the course of the season that they are the better team. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Moulson is scoring twice tonight. Wife and mistress? Quote
hockeyhound Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) I can't wait to get hammered and watch this game tonight. PWI (posting while intoxicated) can be difficult. Edited March 9, 2016 by hockeyhound Quote
