Thorner Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 The posse is growing in number... The Denny's brigade Quote

beerme1 Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 It's about time we all go to Denny's for a Grand Slam breakfast to continue this conversation. Scattered, smothered and covered please. Man I feel bad for the waitresses at all Denny's and Waffle Houses that have to put up with guys like us at 3am. I was going to post here during the game, but I ended up talking to the old man during the first period and first half of the second, we don't get to do that much because of school, it was nice. Dads and their life lessons. The Kings are ###### good. I expected to be run out of the building. But the boys showed up. I expect to win this game next year. I'm proud of the way they played. Jack looked great, the line of Kane-Jack-Samson fought through the team that is tough enough to cycle and board-play their way to a cup. Eichel v Kopitar. Invaluable learning was done tonight. Sam's stick lift that one play was gold. I like Marcus a lot recently. Lehner is the man. I love this team and this sport I heart this post. Ya mon! Dad or Mom time is irreplaceable and you need to shut out everything else when you get those moments. Bravo to you sir! Quote
Two or less Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 OK Briere. But now I'll need you all to pitch in for the tip. haha Quote
thewookie1 Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I really don't think we're Edmonton. We're fresh out of the tank, with less talent, and we're already better than them. They consistently failed to bring veterans in to guide the young guys, any defense whatsoever, or ever find a goalie. We have 2/3 of those locked down, with the defense 1-2 players away from being set. Edmonton's problem isn't that they tanked/went through a rebuild, plenty of teams do that. They just did it in the most moronic way imaginable, by completely ignoring glaring faults and adding the same type of young, not ready players again and again. Edmonton is a truly unique case Just to add look at Eichel and Reinhart's decrease in effectiveness since ROR's been out and you see exactly why Edmonton is still suffering. Never have their rookies had any protection whatsoever. I almost wonder if this continues in Edmonton a few more years if they'll ruin McDavid. Eichel can enjoy this experience for he knows in around 10 games he won't have to be the guy but rather just a guy again. He can take on pressure as he grows vs having to grow while pressured. Edmonton is what you never want to do in rebuilding a team, they effectively have thrown 1st overall after 1st overall to the wolves with little help outside a few random scrubs and their predecessors. The only legit vet they have had, that I can think of off the top of my head is Ryan Smyth. And since he wasn't similar to any of their pick's style he likely had trouble connecting to some extent. Think about our team, Eichel can go to a 48 goal scorer and Cup Winner in Gionta, a fellow American 2nd overall in Legwand, other hard workers like ROR, he's living with Moulson who while hasn't been good on the ice has at very least made Eichel's off ice life simpler in transition. Same goes with Reinhart for the most part who has certainly found a mentor in ROR specifically. Like a fragile package, they need packing peanuts or air bag thingies to ship safely, we packed our boxes with peanuts, Edmonton merely threw it in a box and hoped it would get to the destination in one piece. Hoss Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I haven't read a post. I watched the first period and then saw the score at the bar. Was this the most boring game ever? My guess is that the Kings suffocated everybody. Quote
woods-racer Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Wow !! Thought I would wake up to spilled beer, empty whiskey bottles, and the dried splatter of puke on the toilet bowl this morning in this GDT. No Full House? Lots of hockey talk? Late night Denny's run? I understand it's tough to do back to backs, but we have Edmonton on Tuesday. Pace yourselves people. It's a post trade deadline and game should be a high scoring affair (7 combined goals?). I expect more Sofia Viagra and less Mike Robitaille in the next GDT! In all seriousness, good GDT for as late as the game was. Watched the first and fell a sleep half way through the second. Nice read this morning. Personally, I side with those that believe Jamie should be traded. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Who, me? I'm just showing team spirit That looks like Tom Barrasso in, oh, 1986. Edited February 28, 2016 by Sabres Fan In NS Quote
dudacek Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 To be fair Foligno is invisible every game. Hmmm sounds like this guy is consistent. (Truth is I never give up ;-) ) Quote
Stoner Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Never. Just make something up. That's what I do. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I'm pretty sure they serve breakfast all day for the late risers. Quote
pastajoe Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Finally got to watch the game. Loved the physical game. A shame that another great effort from Lehner was wasted, he kept them in and gave them a chance. I like that Eichel is getting mad and said afterwards he has to be better. A deficiency that needs to be addressed in the next couple years is the defense has to get faster. The opponent forwards close the gap quick after they dump in. Quote
Jsixspd Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 A 3 game West Coast road trip - and the Sabres get blanked in 2 of 3 games; and get shut out by their former goalie Enroth, to add insult to injury. The Sabres have scored a grand total of 6 goals in 4 games since O'Reilly got hurt. O'Reilly's absence is deeply felt. GMTM needs to add a lot more offensive firepower this coming off-season. Quote
