dudacek Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Kane passed the puck better than he has all year. Too bad. A rare game I was able to share on the game day thread. So my fault. Happy deadline eve. Quote
WildCard Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) My main takeaway from this second shutout loss in three games is that Jake Muzzin is pretty damn good.Filthy good. I had a pipe dream we would land him, but I think LA is fully aware of how good he is Edited February 28, 2016 by WildCard Quote
hockeyhound Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) If you're hoping for him to make a significant improvement by Monday 3pm, you're setting yourself up for huge disappointment. Teams in our position don't go out and get help at the deadline. Also, i don't think Murray will want to risk losing lottery ball percentage odds. At least help us see the bigger picture. Where are they going with this team, what's their identity? Watching Edmonton go through their rebuild doesn't inspire me to think our rebuild isn't going to any less painful. Eleven Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Very well put. And I don't think Murray goes crazy in FA. IIRC he doesn't like to add players through FA frenzy Well, we don't know much about that yet. Quote
WildCard Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 By the paddle of ETHRON, the Sabres have been shut out.He thinks we're still in Tank mode Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Enroth's too small to play in the NHL. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Fair enough. If we can get him cheaper, I'd rather just keep him though. You're probably right in that he does want to be paid like that though Here's my thing--he can't play on Bylsma's 3rd line. And I think we could all agree that $3 million+ for a 4th liner is insane. So he has to be a top-6 forward to earn his contract. I either want my top-6 wingers to be better offensively, or useful as they slide down the lineup when they're supplanted by a more talented player (possibly on a cheap ELC to boot). Quote
Thorner Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Risto failing to get his guy I'm surprised this didn't get more play. That was an embarrassing effort from Risto on that goal. The silver lining is maybe that'll lower the AAV of his new contract. Quote
Brawndo Posted February 28, 2016 Author Report Posted February 28, 2016 Third tank is a charm? I'm with you, patience; however, I would really like to see something happen Monday that will give us some hope. Something that makes sense. I think you will see more deals over the summer once the cap is settled and GMs start shedding RFAs Quote
WildCard Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Well, we don't know much about that yet. It's not his actions, it's an interview he had. I'll never be able to find it but I swear I remember him saying he doesn't like to splurge in FA Quote

beerme1 Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Slept right through my phone alarm on this one, but I'm here now with 8 minutes left. This is garbage my friend. Garbage. Quote

He's much more consistent IMO Quote
Two or less Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Happy deadline eve. Keep your twitter machine on though... Sportsnet's John Shannon predicts more trades Sunday then on Monday. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Why can't he take Foligno's spot on the 3rd? He's much more consistent IMO McGinn's defensive game is nowhere near as good as Foligno's. No way McGinn could handle the minutes Bylsma gives his 3rd line, and he certainly wouldn't be producing any offense (the thing he's about to get paid for) while doing so. We saw it earlier in the year when McGinn was completely invisible until being moved into the top-6. Quote
Tondas Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 At least help us see the bigger picture. Where are they going with this team, what's their identity? Watching the Edmonton go through their rebuild doesn't inspire me to think our rebuild isn't going to any less painful. References to Edmonton make me shudder. It's a good point regarding their identity. Having seen McGinn this year, I thought he played into the identity (albeit not on the 1-2 line). But I thought that was the identity. Now he will leave to get picks that wont be in the lineup for 4 years. Are we in lather, rinse, repeat mode like the other Buffalo franchise? Quote
3putt Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 If you would have offered me an over/under of 5 ga prior to this trip I would have taken the over. Quote

Is it that McGinn isn't as good defensively as Gionta/Foligno, or that Foligno is that good defensively? Quote

So...yes. Quote

Just like the one golf shot we all make during a round that keeps us coming back. Quote
Eleven Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Is Larsson is making Zemgus expendable? I think Zemgus is making Zemgus expendable, lately. Quote
