Hoss Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Mayor's Manor: #LAKings are not done. There will be one more, minor league deal. Still waiting on trade call. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 The only good thing I see coming from this is that the teams around the league may now know Murray won't fold under pressure. Other than that, our 2016 trade deadline comes on our draft daybecause he wouldn't give up McGinn or Johnson? More like the may have inquired and thought that for what he was asking, they could get a better deal elsewhere. Uts not like the Sabres trade bait was all that tantalizing.Buffalo just didn't have the asserts this year to make other teams excited and make deals. They had mediocre assetts that could be found anywhere and weren't as valuable to contending teams Quote

Is losing out on a 4th round pick really all that more important than gaining some respect for next time around? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 I'd still be willing to bet that McGinn is gone. Quote

apuszczalowski Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Maybe it was intentional.could have also been they were done at the time and then got some calls back to say they would take a previous offer? Basically the Bruins thought they were done and then the Canes called back and said we will take that previous offer you made and we declined.... Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 gotta be mcginn. a 3rd? A 2nd, a B- prospect, and a conditional testicle to be named later. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Don't we deal with Minnesota every year? Quote

Is losing out on a 4th round pick really all that more important than gaining some respect for next time around?you really think other teams will respect him more if he holds his ground over not dealing away a throw in on a previous deal or backup goalie? The Sabres didn't have anything special or coveted this year to deal. The only player that would he been coveted or in demand are guys signed long term and not being shopped. I would be surprised if he received calls for McGinn and Johnson asking what it would cost but that's about as far as it went. They aren't guys that are rare and can't be found elsewhere. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Don't we deal with Minnesota every year? They're going to rebuild eventually, so they wanted to hang on to their 2021 2nd round draft pick. Quote
Eleven Posted February 29, 2016 Author Report Posted February 29, 2016 Don't we deal with Minnesota every year? They don't have any picks left to send to us. They're going to rebuild eventually, so they wanted to hang on to their 2021 2nd round draft pick. Exactly. Quote
darksabre Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Don't we deal with Minnesota every year? McGinn would be the kinda gritty guy you take if you're serious about a playoff run. I don't think Minnesota has the guts, but I bet he'd do well for them. Quote

There have been multiple reports that teams were interested in McGinn, and it's routine that players like him are moved at the deadline. Look around the league today, there were about 3-4 players moved this year who weren't McGinn-level Edited February 29, 2016 by WildCard Quote
