calti Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 trenative Edwards actually. JP had a cannon just wasn't sure where it was going trentative was accurate on the 5-20 yd buttonhook. he never hit a receiver in stride....oi what a nightmare we bills fans have had to deal with at qb.now if we can just dump the stiff at head coach. GoPre Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 So the Bills not exercising EJ's 5th year of his contract, he's ONLY going to make approx $3,000,000 this year as a backup? That must suck........... I don't know why the Bills didn't exercise the $11,000,000 option. Not an EJ fan, but if he proves to be a quality backup this season can the Bills release him to FA and then re-sign him at backup pay? JJFIVEOH Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Not an EJ fan, but if he proves to be a quality backup this season can the Bills release him to FA and then re-sign him at backup pay? Since they didn't exercise his 5th year, he's going to be a free agent after this year anyways. I'm sure they could sign him if they wanted him back and he accepts a backup role. Quote

Taro T Posted May 4, 2016 Report Posted May 4, 2016 He's now the 2nd highest paid left tackle in the league. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/left-tackle/ And in 2 years, he'll probably be something like the 10th highest paid. Reality in a capped world, when the cap ALWAYS goes up, the latest paid gets the most. Hopefully this means they get Gilmore locked up sooner than later. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted May 4, 2016 Report Posted May 4, 2016 Is he really that good? Is he the 2nd best LT in the league? No, but as Taro said, that's just the way it works. This is a world in which Anthony Castonzo, who is terrible, is the 5th highest paid. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted May 4, 2016 Author Report Posted May 4, 2016 Is he really that good? Well, based on what I read from those who know a whole lot more than me, he is most likely a top 10 LT. Paying him that kind of money is essentially market, I think. Quote
WildCard Posted May 4, 2016 Report Posted May 4, 2016 Thanks for the info guys I'm happy with the deal. One less headache to worry about and now we have the tag for Gilmore or Tyrod next season Quote
WildCard Posted May 4, 2016 Report Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Bart Scott offers to mentor Ragland Ryan's system, Scott explained, isn't as complex as some Bills players saw it last season. Some players' gripes about the scheme could be construed as excuses for not being successful, he said. The playbook might include 30 versions of zone blitzes, as an example, but they're all zone blitzes. "You can look at them and you can count each of them one by one, then it’s going to overwhelm you," he said. "But what he’s gonna have to do is to take the defenses and marry them with each other. Right? A zone blitz is a zone blitz. That’s one defense." On Saturday, Ryan called Alabama's defense "the college version of our defense." The reason why, according to Scott, is that Ryan once gave coach Nick Saban a copy of his playbook -- which later stirred a minor controversy when former Jets assistant Mike Pettine believed it ended up in the hands of rival Patriots coach Bill Belichick, a friend of Saban. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/24540/bart-scott-wants-to-mentor-bills-reggie-ragland-in-rex-ryans-defense Courtesy of YoloinOhio over at TBD. @spotracCordy Glenn LT $ Rankings$13M AAV: 2nd (T.
