bob_sauve28 Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 The way he plays seems to me to almost invite a head injury. He gets down real low along the boards with his head right against the wall and when he gets hit he smashes his head right into it. I've seen that countless times with Ennis. Quote
dudacek Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 This is Tyler's first concussion, correct? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 This is Tyler's first concussion, correct? Even if this is the first reported with the Sabres, it most assuredly is not his first. Quote
dudacek Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Even if this is the first reported with the Sabres, it most assuredly is not his first. What do you mean? Just that chances are good he's had others that have gone undiagnosed, or unreported? Edited April 9, 2016 by dudacek Quote
That Aud Smell Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 What do mean? Just that chances are good he's had others that have gone undiagnosed, or unreported? Yeah. That's all. I noodled around to see if I could find indications of others - no sign. But his size, and the way he plays -- he's had them before, you hafta think. Quote
Stoner Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 Kaleta went through the same thing awhile back. I'm more troubled by the seizures. I guess what I was driving at is whether someone who needs a tinted visor should be resuming his hockey career. Quote
Weave Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 I guess what I was driving at is whether someone who needs a tinted visor should be resuming his hockey career. In Kaleta's case it was temporary. I assume the same would be true for Ennis. Should that be a trigger to walk away from the game? I'm on board with suggesting he walk away. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 I have always liked Ennis, but I really think (actually hope, for his long term health, I also hope that it's not too late) he has played his last NHL game. I can't even remember when he last played, but I think that was it. Quote

Eleven Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 In related news... The National Hockey League had its motion to dismiss class action concussion-related lawsuits filed by former NHL players denied by the U. S. Courts today. "Denied as moot". The motion to dismiss was denied on its merits because it was premature. The NHL's motion to stay was denied as moot. Quote
