I tried to look through the archives for an old playoff game thread and I managed to find timeframe of when we played Philly and the Umberger hit happened but I didn't see any actual Game Day Threads (this was april 20ish 2006, maybe they didn't have a naming convention we have now?). Anyways, I found this thread from april 2006 hinting that RJ was contemplating retirement. There's so many posters on there I've never even seen. And, honestly, it didn't seem as exciting as I imagined. 

 

I think there was a "chat" where the games were discussed. Not sure of the reasoning behind it but from a historical perspective it's stupid. Maybe to prevent clutter in the thread but that seems counter intuitive to having a thread for discussion? Anyways, once Eichel leads the team to the playoffs next year this place is going to be rocking.

Didn't the Sabres shed Mitchell and Flynn to speed up the Tank? Or were they brought on to help the tank and then shipped because they demonstrated skill?

Wasn't Flynn the guy where Murray remarked that he was surprised to receive a call from a GM about him? I can't imagine he was traded away for being "too good."
