clintwestwood Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Bill Hoppe @BillHoppeNHL 2m2 minutes ago Don't see Sam Reinhart on the ice this morning. #Sabres  Quote
Samson's Flow Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 That's an ugly line up Beat me to it. Not tank-level ugly, but certainly bottom-5 ugly. And yet the last week or so the team has gone on a winning streak and has been playing quite well. With a bunch of AHL'ers and scrubs in the forwards. Interesting. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Is this just a lost season with Ennis? I honestly can't recall what's become of him. Has he had two separate injuries? Definitely shaping up as a lost season. Injuries and poor play when on the ice. Bleh. And yet the last week or so the team has gone on a winning streak and has been playing quite well. With a bunch of AHL'ers and scrubs in the forwards. Interesting. We also had a streak last year winning 10/13 with a worse lineup. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Definitely shaping up as a lost season. Injuries and poor play when on the ice. Bleh. Yeah. The principal reasons we're not in that low-20s range, IMO: (1) Moulson giving essentially nothing; (2) Ennis being lost and injured; (3) to a lesser extent, patchwork goaltending. Quote
josie Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 If I wasn't getting my butt on the road back to Rochester at the stroke of 5:00 I would come find you. Enjoy the new Buffalo! Go have a drink with the man! The cat and I can hold down the fort ;) Quote
darksabre Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Go have a drink with the man! The cat and I can hold down the fort ;) Nope. I'm coming home. You can't get rid of me that easily. :P Quote
Brawndo Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Update on Reinhart: Coach Bylsma says he has an upper-body injury, timeline is currently about a week. Return after ASG Quote
Stoner Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Nope. I'm coming home. You can't get rid of me that easily. :P I'd keep tabs on that cat, my friend. Beat me to it. Not tank-level ugly, but certainly bottom-5 ugly. Uhhhhh... Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Update on Reinhart: Coach Bylsma says he has an upper-body injury, timeline is currently about a week. Return after ASG Hopefully nothing too bad. I wonder if he will come back with a facemask? Whatever it was, it seemed like his face caught the worst of it. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Also heard that Bylsma was candid in his remarks about Moulson's game. Doesn't "like where his game is at," or words to that effect. Uhhhhh... Easy. It's not as though we're holding down NHL-ready talent in the ROC. Quote
Brawndo Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Kinda of excited about tonight's game. For Christmas My Wife got tickets for the game and we are spending the night at Marriott HarborCenter sans kids. Quote

Cereal Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Here it is folks, Larkin vs. Eichel 4.0. Both red-shirt rookie phenoms..... What makes them red-shirt? Sounds like Samson will return after the all-star break (per Sylvester and Peters). Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I'd keep tabs on that cat, my friend. Uhhhhh... What team wouldn't look ugly missing 3-4 of their top-6 forwards? Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 What team wouldn't look ugly missing 3-4 of their top-6 forwards? PA's mythical super team. Quote
WildCard Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) What makes them red-shirt? Sounds like Samson will return after the all-star break (per Sylvester and Peters). Well, technically Eichel would be the only red-shirt, as it's his first year eligible to play in the league and he is. Tonight could get real ugly, folks. That is a tank lineup right there, though this time it's due to injury. Edited January 22, 2016 by WildCard Quote

Reinhart would be kinda like a redshirt because he didn't play last year but was eligible. Pysyk maybe because he played in the AHL last year instead of Buffalo where he belonged. Quote

Apparently I have the exact opposite definition of red-shirt; clearly I don't pay attention to NCAA sports at all. What is the word for a true freshman then? Just that? A true freshman? Quote

It's very rare getting a night out without the kids so you take advantage of it my friend!! Buy a couple of beers at the game and get yourself a bottle of the good stuff for back at the hotel :flirt:  Quote
