I like Pysyk too, but lets face it, we've set the bar awfully low these past few seasons for what we consider quality defensemen.    He has good agility, but like most of the defensemen on this roster, he's slow and won't win many puck races back into the zone.

IMO Ennis, Pysyk and (I'm guessing) a 3rd... isn't enough to land Drouin if I'm Stevie Y.

I think he's arguably our best defensive defenseman.

The Avs are motivated.

Fair enough.  Lindros did the same kind of thing Drouin is kind of doing and look what happened to his career.  If the same positive results would happen to Drouin when he became a Sabre, I certainly would not be mad.  Is the gamble worth it?  Depends on all of the parts that it'll take to take said gamble, of course.

This is nothing like the Lindros saga.   Lindros refused to play for Quebec who had the 1st overall pick.    Drouin never said he didn't want to play for the Lightning.    He's played 7 games in the AHL where he doesn't belong, I like that he's forcing the issue now.

But the trade sent the Cup the other way, to the Nordiques/Avs.
