TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Watch Bylsma piss us all off and keep Reinhart at wing. Actually, I'm expecting it. Opening night (Assuming O'Reilly plays): Ennis-O'Reilly-Reinhart Kane-Girgensons-Fasching Foligno-Larsson-Gionta Moulson-Grant-Deslauriers Quote

jsb Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Least disruptive lineup going forward This will keep some type of continuity on the team Ennis-ROR-Okposo Kane-Girgensons-Reinhart Foligno-Larsson-Gionta/ Moulson-Grant-Des Fasching Coolio-Risto McCabe-Bogo Gorges-Franson Nelson Lehner now becomes even more important than before Girgensons gets his chance to show what he's made of Edited October 12, 2016 by jsb Quote

Taro T Posted October 12, 2016 Author Report Posted October 12, 2016 No one. They already have two spare forwards. They roll with them short term. So O'Reilly is definitely in? That would go a long way to mitigating this morning's news. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 So O'Reilly is definitely in? That would go a long way to mitigating this morning's news. I've been getting the impression that he's not likely to play tomorrow Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 I think it was Vogl who reported O'Reilly is unlikely for the opener. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 DD said his pairings for tomorrow are as follows: Gorges Ristolainen McCabe Bogosian Kulikov Franson I can see DD's logic for putting a puck mover on each line with a stay at home player and dividing his two slow skaters, but I'm not thrilled. I'm going to assume he said this in a delusional state of shock after the Eichel injury, and he doesn't actually mean it. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 WE GOT KULIKOV TO GET GORGES INTO A BETTER SPOT FOR HIS ABILITIESWell, at least we'll be reminded why Risto's advanced stats were bad. The Gorges-chip-up-the-wall-no-matter-what play will do that to anybody. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Oh come the ##### on!? Really DD? This day is hockey hell. I'm out! Quote

"But the team was better without Risto on the ice." - Said every stats guy, ignoring that getting Risto off the ice also meant getting Gorges off the ice. Quote
beerme1 Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Maybe he's protecting Kuli who isn't really fully ready to go? Quote
SwampD Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 What am I missing? What's wrong with those D pairings? What are better ones? Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 What am I missing? What's wrong with those D pairings? What are better ones? You honestly don't see a problem with Gorges on the top pair? Quote
3putt Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 What am I missing? What's wrong with those D pairings? What are better ones?Really? How aboutKulikov Risto McCabe Bogosian Nelson Gorges for starters. DD is effectively handcuffing the three best d with lesser talents. Ugh. (Serenity now) Quote
SwampD Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 You honestly don't see a problem with Gorges on the top pair? Not for the Habs. Quote
beerme1 Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Gorges still has a role on this team and will contribute a lot I believe. That role is not 1st pairing though of that I am sure. I would rather see McCabe there temporarily if Kuli is not ready for the ice time but I guess DD is thinking gotta have a vet. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Hot Daniel's player usage is... It's bad. Quote
dudacek Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Looks like Dan didn't get a long enough look at Kuli, and/or doesn't trust his bruised butt yet. Went with what he knows. Quote
