DarthEbriate Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 lol yeah... it's more like 5pm for me, which is close enough to quitting time that I feel like I should just stay on task and get done so I can watch part of it at home, but early enough I should just start listening via WGR at work. Haven't gotten into that mindset yet, but as you point out, there are ways around the early start times. By 3 pm I no longer worry about staying on task. But that's because my field likes the 7-730 am arrival at work. That said, that one game... Columbus Day?... that started at 930 am? Unless it's the Olympics, who's even thinking of hockey that early? Quote
SarasotaSabre Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 great thing ROR won it with that slick move/shot, because I was not at all shocked to see Gionta miss the net by at least 5 feet on a breakaway. He needs to be put out to pasture; I really wish someone had the stones to pull the plug on him. A captain who is hurting the team - not good. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Again...the Swede that we need. Indeed Quote
DarthEbriate Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 What a great game...........Except for the offside review ###### Sport is entertainment; the challenge gave us drama. And drama in sport is fun. (note: I wouldn't say this if we had lost.) Good game. And good evening to you all. Quote
SarasotaSabre Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 ESPN with an epic fail http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400815300 Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 I think O'Reilly falling over as he shot totally confused Enroth  He's too small to play in the NHL. Quote
WildCard Posted December 13, 2015 Author Report Posted December 13, 2015 ROR did the math.....Well played Quote

I'm generally on a later schedule at work and don't get in until 9:30-10am unless there's an early meeting, so 5pm is still an hour from quitting time for me. Quote
Weave Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 As for the Gionta offsides..... It was a timing play. He was off by a small fraction of a second. I see no reason to tar and feather him. happens at speed. Precisely why the offsides challenge is crappy. Quote

Randall Flagg Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 For the first time in a while, every player on the team had a good game, IMO. They beat a good team. A tired team, but a good team.Kopitar is a horse, as is Doughty. Quote
Tondas Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Dare I say that ROR is a better player and almost as clutch as Drury. Quote
russ Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 ESPN with an epic fail http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400815300 A 3-1 ot win. Nice. Quote
Doohicksie Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 That's easily the best 3-1 OT win in Sabres history. 31.png Ah, you caught that too, eh? Quote
Huckleberry Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Off to bed, was a very enjoyable game glad I stayed up :D That's easily the best 3-1 OT win in Sabres history. Ah, you caught that too, eh? Maybe they decided the McCabe goal counts after all :p Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 NHL take note! This is how entertaining a game can be when your officials let them play. It was fun watching players play without fear of being called for everything. Quote
SarasotaSabre Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 A 3-1 ot win. Nice. and it shows McCabe with an unassisted goal. Nice work ESPN. Too busy pleasuring themselves with the Heisman Quote
Ottosmagic13 Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Awesome game, I'll watch those all year! Quote
Doohicksie Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 and it shows McCabe with an unassisted goal. Nice work ESPN. Too busy pleasuring themselves with the Heisman NHL GameCenter made the same mistake. My guess is that it's a database error and both GameCenter and ESPN pull data from the same spot. Quote

Whatever it was, it was FUBAR. Quote
Doohicksie Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 don't think it's a database error, as the game score is an isolated piece of data. Whatever it was, it was FUBAR. I can't think of any other reason both sites would make the same mistake. They must be pulling the data from the same source. Despite the fact that the Sabres handily outshot the Kings, I would almost say Linus stole this game for the Sabres. Another comment on the game: I think the Sabres had their best forecheck of the year going tonight. Quote
