Brawndo Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 @BuffNewsVogl: Dan Bylsma says Tyler Ennis' upper-body injury is new, still being evaluated. No timetable as of yet for return. Quote
Nitro60 Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 How about addressing the fact that the Sabres are always giving up early goals? This team is not good enough to fight from behind. Quote
Weave Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 This game was a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey. No. This game was not awesome. Quote

They have outplayed every team in the first period these past six games, then made one bad play results in them being down 1-0 Quote
Iron Crotch Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 We're going into games with 4-6 rookies in the lineup. Against quality veteran opponents, that is going to show. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Gionta was next to useless on that top line tonight. HD NEEDS to dial back his playing time. It's getting absurd Quote
kishoph Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Gionta getting 22:16 of ice time, more time than any D man is a problem Gionta getting 5+ more minutes than Jack Eichel is absolutely ridiculous, unless Jack has a broken leg or is in a coma. Quote

The definition of rookie is pretty narrow by NHL standards. Reinhart is not a rookie, for example, since he's played in more than six games in two preceding seasons. Who are you counting? Quote

For all intents and purposes Reinhart is a rookie, I would say any Calder Trophy Eligible Player is one but Panarin is 24 and eligible which skews that quite a bit. Ullmark, Eichel, Reinhart and McCabe are the four I can come up with. Quote

Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie. Quote
WildCard Posted November 26, 2015 Author Report Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Unless you've played the equivalent of a full season, I consider you a rookie. Unless you keep getting called up and are too terrible to stay up Edited November 26, 2015 by WildCard Quote
North Buffalo Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I don't know what they need to do to get these guys to come out of the gate flying, but they need to figure something out. I don't care if they have to chess box in the locker room after warm ups. I don't care if they have to eat the smelling salts. This team has no desire to kill. https://youtu.be/s2MbHYGj9bs Quote
Iron Crotch Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 NHL.com considers Eichel, Reinhart, Ullmark, McCabe, and Schaller as rookies. Risto, Deslauriers, Larrson and Pysyk are basically second year guys. We have talent, but we're young. Plus a new coach and new system. It'll be a while before these guys gel. Quote

I always forget about the 2nd year guys, darn this team is young... yet they keep playing Gionta and to an extent Moulson ungodly minutes... Kane, Bogo and OReilly aren't exactly old either. If you include them that is 12 guys under age of what 25? Yeh it is hard to watch sometimes... but it is perspective... Austin Matthews here we come.... Quote
beerme1 Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Reading Eichel's lips as he skated off after the buzzer: "That sucked." I saw "" where you saw "that sucked" and after the goal I saw "nice pass" obviously intended for ROR. I like it all. Well filter this then. azzhole is what I saw! Quote

Austin Matthews here we come.... I think going into this season, most people said they didn't expect too much until the first quarter, maybe Christmas. Let's see what evolves. The one thing that has surprised me (and not in a good way) is that Bylsma seems at lost in his system at times as some of the players. I still consider this basically an expansion team though, in terms of talent, chemistry, coaching, etc. Last year, Game 22, featured 10/18 skaters, plus the goalie, that are no longer on the team. And our goalie, by the way, just made his 10th NHL start (and I think his 13th? North American start). This team has seriously cleaned house, is under new management, and is still implementing the new system. As frustrating as it is, this is to be expected. There will come a point where the chemistry will finally sink in and the puck luck will change, and then this will be a pretty formidable team. Quote

Huckleberry Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Ullmark seems to have been hung out to dry a couple of times, some defensive support would have been nice on those goals. Hodgson just got left alone Quote
Brawndo Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Kane leads the team in total ice time and is in a walking boot after the game. That is one dedicated player. Quote
