It's the only shot Kane takes. I think he tries to brush the post or not hit the net at all.

Only Nicky D and Legwand want to go to the net and make their presence known. So basically it's all perimeter shots with out a Sabre around the net for a second chance.

No net front presence to speak of. It wasn't until late in the second that the Des-Foligno-Leggy line created a few opportunities by occupying the crease.

I agree.  Too much on the perimeter and not enough guys willing to go to the front of the net.
