WildCard Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Idris Elba would be an incredible choice for Bond. That guy would kill that role. Quote
bunomatic Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I agree with We've on Live or let die. Who is Elba and what has he been in ? I'm not familiar with that name. Christian Bale would make a good bond. Quote
ubkev Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I agree with We've on Live or let die. Who is Elba and what has he been in ? I'm not familiar with that name. Christian Bale would make a good bond. Elba played Heimdall in Thor, and he captains the ship in Prometheus. I'm going to have to disagree with you on Bale. One cannot be Batman and Bond in one lifetime. Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Idris Elba would be an incredible choice for Bond. That guy would kill that role. He was rumored to possibly be the next Bond and I like the idea. I would toss out Tom Hiddleston but I am sure he is an action guy. Just think he could be very suave Quote

WildCard Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Bale can't be Batman. He has the looks, but you can't come from Batman into Bond, Bond has always been an actor with very minimal roles prior to becoming Bond Quote
Taro T Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Bale can't be Batman. He has the looks, but you can't come from Batman into Bond, Bond has always been an actor with very minimal roles prior to becoming Bond  Though it was TV for both, Moore (The Saint) & Brosnan (Remington Steele) both were quite successful & well known prior to taking their turns as 007. Taro T Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 They played tv roles, but not major film roles. The TV portion was stated directly in the post you quoted. I see the point. But it's kind of like saying Patrick Stewart had had minimal roles prior to playing Professor Xavier. They each were very well known stars prior to joining the big screen behemoths. Quote
Hoss Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I like Tom Hiddleston as an actor a lot. I don't know if he could do Bond (no action experience and a little small) but that's an interesting name. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Tom Hiddleston strikes me as more of a Q than a Bond. Quote

I got it: James May. Quote

nfreeman Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I suppose I'm in the minority, but I've always been pretty lukewarm on the Bond movies. Quote

qwksndmonster Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 My connection to the Bond films is heavily rooted in nostalgia. Goldeneye, Casino Royale, and Skyfall have been the only good ones made since I was born (haven't seen the new one yet). I can't really fault anybody for not being into Bond, they're pretty much just textured action films. Quote
bunomatic Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 He's most known for being Stringer Bell in The Wire. And no thanks on Bale. He's even serious-er than Craig. My wife and you are in agreement on Bale. Too serious was what she said earlier when I made that post. You're all probably right on him. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Discovered a show on Netflix this week. Master Of None. Pretty good stuff. Quote
SDS Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 Paging SDS: Is there a formal impeachment procedure we can initiate? I have never seen a full James Bond movie. Quote
Stoner Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 I'm senior advisor to SDS and neither have I. You discuss this dreck at our pleasure. Quote
Thwomp! Posted November 12, 2015 Author Report Posted November 12, 2015 I have never seen a full James Bond movie. I'll put my neck out there with you on this one. I too have never seen a full James Bond movie. From the bits and pieces I have seen over the years, I guess I just don't get "it". Quote

From the bits and pieces I have seen over the years, I guess I just don't get "it". The bits and pieces I have seen were in the late 70's when my brothers would watch them. Haven't seen more than a commercial since and I have never had the urge to see any of them. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 I have never seen a full James Bond movie. Very well. Revolution it is! I'm senior advisor to SDS and neither have I. You discuss this dreck at our pleasure. So you're this board's Battista, huh. No wonder you were obsessed either him, you worried he'd make his way here and replace you. I'll put my neck out there with you on this one. I too have never seen a full James Bond movie. From the bits and pieces I have seen over the years, I guess I just don't get "it". I'd expect nothing less from a hardcore Bernie Sanders supporter :nana: Quote
nfreeman Posted November 13, 2015 Report Posted November 13, 2015 TBGED -- this Bond contretemps is looking like a huge win for me. Quote
WildCard Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 This show on amc, Into the Badlands, looks like it has some potential Quote
