Stoner Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 When's Saul coming back? BCS, not Homeland teehee. (I did hear Homeland had an episode titled "Better Call Saul.") Quote
Hoss Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Fun tv facts: - Bryan Cranston (Walter), Bob Odenkirk (Saul) and Anna Gunn (Skyler) all appeared as love interests of major characters on Seinfeld. - Bob Odenkirk was the second choice behind Steve Carrell in The Office. - Jesse was supposed to die in season one. - Michael Keaton was supposed to play Jack in LOST and was also supposed to die in the first episode. Anybody else got some? Quote
qwksndmonster Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Breaking Bad/BCS: Tuco was supposed to be the bad guy through the end of season 2 of Breaking Bad, but Raymond Cruz was on The Closer and couldn't do it. This was part of the reason they brought him back for Better Call Saul. Who's love interest was Bryan Cranston? I know he's Jerry's dentist... Quote
Hoss Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Who's love interest was Bryan Cranston? I know he's Jerry's dentist... He dated Elaine. Quote
Stoner Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 He dated Elaine. And he took it out. Quote
bunomatic Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 going to the new bond tomorrow night. Still not sure I like old pursed lip, Daniel Craig. Not bad but meh. I'll break it down post show. Just to follow this up the new bond flick Spectre was a great time. Enjoyed it as did most of the other old codgers in the audience I'm sure. There were quite a few youngsters there in groups probably getting turned onto the franchise for the first time. on a side note the trailer for Leo DeCaprios new movie looked great. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 James Bond was my childhood. It's strange to think about kids getting into the Bond franchise with Daniel Craig. Quote
Stoner Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Is she an Anti-dentite? I screwed up. That wasn't Cranston who took it out. Quote
Hoss Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 James Bond was my childhood. It's strange to think about kids getting into the Bond franchise with Daniel Craig. They'll have to get into the franchise with somebody else now. He appears to have done his final movie. I'll be interested in the next choice. I think Idris Elba could absolutely do an awesome Bond (he's got all the qualities). But I don't see it happening. Quote

I liked Craig a lot, but he wasn't fun enough for me. I like Connery/Brosnan's tongue in cheek Bonds the best. I love the Idris Elba idea. He's a terrific actor. Quote

After the invisible car, I think the franchise needed to go in the direction that an actor like Craig could take it. I'm ready for some more humor, though. Quote

Hoss Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Of the big names that have been talked about, Elba and Tom Hardy are my top choices. I hadn't heard Hardy before, but I also love that idea. It'll be interesting to see if they just go on with what they've been doing or go for a newer Bond. Craig could also do another movie, but I would prefer if they moved on after he admitted he hated doing it. If they do another one I think they should kill him at the end or have him retire and then reveal that Bond is now going to become a persona filled by different special agents in the future. I just like the idea of "Bond" being a nameless and faceless force. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I don't like that idea. I like Bond being one guy that's an incredible force of badassery with an uncertain past. Skyfall very minimalistically gave little hints about him that didn't amount to much. I thought that was clever. Quote

This one will give you an obvious hint to as who he was (I haven't seen it, but I saw a ton of plot in the leaked Sony emails). They could also make it so ALL Bonds have been different people and the only reason their past is so mysterious is because they've been essentially brainwashed and disconnected from any reality of their own. It would explain the dead parents storyline because it's easy to appease somebody who wants to know about their parents if you say they died in a crash. I'm also fine if they're all one guy. I just kind of like a few different storylines they could go with. Quote
shrader Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 If like to see them go with an unfamiliar face when they do cast a new Bond. Let the role create a new star like it did with Craig. I know he had done plenty of stuff before Casino Royale (even saw Layer Cake in theaters), but it certainly made his career. Oh, and reading spoilers in the leaked Sony emails? Seriously? Quote

ubkev Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I think Michael Fassbender would make a good 007. All of the actors had their moments as Bond. Golden Eye was awesome. Timothy Dalton was a dark side of bond a generation before Craig took the role there. Roger Moore was pure 80s gold. And Sean Connery has 2 of the 3 best Bond movies to his credit (Goldfinger and Thunderball, IMO) What's everyone's favorite Bond song? Tie: For Your Eyes Only (love me some Sheena Easton) and Skyfall (HATE Adele, but that song was great) Quote
Weave Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Live and Let Die, hands down for best theme song. Thunderball for best Bond movie. Bond is one continuous character in following withe the original storyline from the Ian Fleming novels. I'd hate to see it changed. Spin off a new series instead. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Blue... did we just... agree about a movie? First we agree on a movie, then Hoss and I find common ground on Tannehill. If Drane makes a comeback as an analytics wonk, I'm building a bunker in the woods. Quote

... Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 I grew up watching Bond flicks, mainly the Moore era. Then the movies just got worse, especially after you see the Connery ones. I thought Craig put the franchise back on the right track, but agree Bond needs to have a certain charisma. IMHO, Connery is still the Bond to beat; he could do drama and action, then lighten it up and make it all look natural. Whoever they pick for the next Bond needs to be able to do that. Quote
