carpandean Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) Back by d4rk request (again :P ).Sabres Historical: Atlantic Division: Eastern Conference: Playoffs:All charts are net of 93-point pace, except Playoffs, which is net of 8th place.Updated: 3/7 Edited March 8, 2016 by carpandean Quote
carpandean Posted November 6, 2015 Author Report Posted November 6, 2015 No problem. I've been tracking since day 1 (a real pain if I get too far behind), but it takes a few weeks to look like anything useful. Quote
shrader Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 It's amazing how cluttered the mid-section of the first chart is. I can't wait for the day where we can break away from that in a non-2013-2015 way. Quote
MattPie Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 No tank chart this year? Quote
carpandean Posted November 6, 2015 Author Report Posted November 6, 2015 No tank chart this year? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, not yet, anyway. ;) Quote
Weave Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 I know its a popular meme here but, that historical chart looks like there was only 1 run to 8th place. The mediocre team playoff pushes don't really show up in that graph. Quote
shrader Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 I know its a popular meme here but, that historical chart looks like there was only 1 run to 8th place. The mediocre team playoff pushes don't really show up in that graph. There was only one. You've got: -two great seasons -two seasons of pure suck -one season with a quick start that then leveled off into a safe playoff slot -four seasons of mediocrity where they missed out -one late charge, earning a playoff spot Quote
LastPommerFan Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 11-12 was a heroic run to 9th Quote
Claude_Verret Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 For the seasons bunched in the middle it's correct that there was only one literal heroic run to 8th, but what they all have in common is a post 40-ish game shitting of the bed run where they fell >5+ points below the Mendoza line, followed by late season improvements that offered nothing more than false hope and a less attractive draft position. qwksndmonster Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Those tank lines are tremendous on the historical. Quote
Ottosmagic13 Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Very cool, I love how the first one puts the past few seasons into perspective. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 So we are exactly where the best Sabres Team of the last 15 years was through 15 games. me like. Quote
Eleven Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Thanks Carp for all your hard work. I echo the call for pinning this. Edited November 11, 2015 by eleven Quote
Doohicksie Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Looks like the Sabres are doing one step back, two steps forward the last several games. Not bad, but hopefully they can start to win a bit more consistently. Bylsma is probably pretty happy with the team's progress. Quote
Doohicksie Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Winner winner chicken dinner :w00t: Quote
X. Benedict Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Love it. Duck Season/Rabbit Season. :) Quote
