Brawndo Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Re: Ullmark getting up (notice the distinct lack of "it" in this sentence, you perverts)...possible it's related to his hip surgery? Entirely possible, but would the coaches put him in the net if that was the case? Quote
Iron Crotch Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Isles White SUV has its own twitter handle: https://twitter.com/isleswhitesuv ;) Quote
Randall Flagg Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 We look quite a bit more tired than the team that played last night. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Entirely possible, but would the coaches put him in the net if that was the case? As long as he's not at risk of further injury, probably. Quote
nfreeman Posted November 2, 2015 Author Report Posted November 2, 2015 Here's the executive summary: one end zone in the upper deck, part of one corner of the upper deck and one corner section in the club level are unacceptable for everyone except mustache's meathead buddy, or perhaps anyone willing to pay a deep discount to be in the arena and see 3/4 of the ice. The rest of the seats are very good. The upper deck is closer in than in most new arenas. The crowd is a bit sparse -- probably 2/3 full and at least as many Sabres jerseys as Isles jerseys. Still, it's only their fifth or so game here and the Mets are in the WS tonight. (And the marathon was today, which screwed up traffic all day.). I do think they will need to grow a Brooklyn fan base in order to fill the arena consistently. The food at the arena is excellent for arena food. The Isles have had the decided edge in play. Leddy looks like the fastest guy on the ice. The Isles have been able to clear the zone pretty easily. Ullmark looks good though. Pysyk coughed it up just prior to the Isles' goal. Quote
Mustache of God Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 What a snooze fest tonight. Ullmark looked interfered with on that goal...was expecting DB to throw the flag on that. Boring uninspired hockey today, which is disappointing because I don't see them often Quote
... Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 What'd they do, put pins in his hips? Quote

If you mean the giveaway breakout pass, wasn't that Eichel? Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 It was Eichel, he tossed it towards Foligno but that didn't work. Quote
hockeyhound Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) The broken plays and passes directly to the opposition are killing us. Good news, only down 1, and we're a good 3rd period team. Let's Go Buffalo! Edited November 2, 2015 by hockeyhound Quote
Mustache of God Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 The off center jumbo tRon is not as distracting as I thought it would be... 12 shots after two periods is pathetic. I hope they find their legs for the final frame. Quote
Stoner Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Am I the only one liking Foligno's game again? And I've been able to say that 8 or 9 times this year. I think the kid has become a veteran. Way too many defensive errors. On for another goal tonight, sliding on the ice and taking himself out of the play. Quote
Eleven Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 I haven't had much of a problem with this game so far. The only thing that jumps out is how having Ennis back totally spoiled the lines. This is not an unfair view. Quote
beerme1 Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 There appears to be a ton of seats on the Islanders side of the blue line with no one there. I see a car taking up prime ticket spots. Weird. That really strikes me as a euro league look or something. That is really weird. Quote
sabre snipe Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Eichel definitely having a rough game. Oh well Quote
hockeyhound Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Eichel definitely having a rough game. Oh well Seems like a lack of concentration. I guess it'll take some time to get used to the pro schedule; I've got to keep reminding myself that he is only 19 yrs old. Edited November 2, 2015 by hockeyhound Quote
SwampD Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 That really strikes me as a euro league look or something. That is really weird. That was my exact thought. I just said that to a buddy of mine. It looks like a tourney in Europe. The first star of the game gets the car. Quote
Stoner Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Did any of you other oldtimers have a flashback to Brad Park's OT goal when de Haan scored? Quote
Tondas Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Did any of you other oldtimers have a flashback to Brad Park's OT goal when de Haan scored? Too soon. Quote
dudacek Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) When your net comes off like that can you pull your goalie with no repercussions? Interesting. I have no idea. I haven't had much of a problem with this game so far. The only thing that jumps out is how having Ennis back totally spoiled the lines. It really seems that way. None of the lines have great chemistry tonight. Way too many defensive errors. On for another goal tonight, sliding on the ice and taking himself out of the play. Yep. Looks like I jinxed him in the second. I haven't noticed many defensive issues earlier in the season. I'll have to take a closer look. We are really looking like a team playing its fourth game in six nights. They say the Isles are ill though, so hopefully we can push through. Edited November 2, 2015 by dudacek Quote
