WildCard Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Interesting. Did not expect that. It's not as if Ullmark was stellar either. He floundered out there for a bit. Though I think his positioning is much better than Johnson's Quote

Brawndo Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 I was wrong on Ullmark as well, good for him Quote
dudacek Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Ullmark hasn't looked any better than Johnson, but I suspect he's more talented. Big chance for him. Quote

WildCard Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Greiss in net for Isles Tonight So the string of back-ups continues. Can't say I really mind it as we haven't done anything to prove otherwise yet, and it helps us get points (or it should) Quote

Can't say I really mind it as we haven't done anything to prove otherwise yet, and it helps us get points (or it should) I remember quite a bit of cursing, by me in particular, last year about the parade of backups. This year not so much. Griess and no Johnny T, Let's Go Sabres!!! Quote

Ottosmagic13 Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 I like playing Ullmark here. Johnson is always going to be Johnson, he doesn't have a potential ceiling any higher. Ullmark ceiling is worth giving him another shot. Anything that can lessen the blow from Lehner being out without having to give up anything seems good. Quote
Weave Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Screw that. We just went through 2.5 years of tanking, I want wins dammit! I do too. But I also want them to be an honest test. Said another way, I want teams to look at Buffalo in the schedule and say, we'll have to put our backup in next game, against Toronto. Quote

Said another way, I want teams to look at Buffalo in the schedule and say, we'll have to put our backup in next game, against Toronto. Eh, I'd rather get a few garbage wins early this season so that the team doesn't sink into Edmonton status after the last two years of bottoming out. They can graduate to "honest test" wins later.
