WildCard Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) The Sabres begin their stretch without Evander Kane on Tuesday night when they visit the Flyers in Philly. Coming off of consecutive losses, the Sabres look to bounce back and start getting into a groove; at the very least we intend to beat these ass-hats. With Kane out, look for Eichel's line to dominate tonight. Look for Chad Johnson to get the start tonight and rebound from a terrible Montreal performance, and with Neuvirth suffering a recent injury, look for Steve Mason (2-2-1, 3.32 GAA, .899%) to start Game PreviewMonday's Lines MONDAY’S PRACTICE 44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 90 Ryan O'Reilly – 63 Tyler Ennis 23 Sam Reinhart – 15 Jack Eichel – 22 Johan Larsson 26 Matt Moulson – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 12 Brian Gionta 82 Marcus Foligno – 17 David Legwand – 88 Jamie McGinn – 59 Tim Schaller Defensemen: 4 Josh Gorges, 55 Rasmus Ristolainen, 29 Jake McCabe, 3 Mark Pysyk, 6 Mike Weber, 46 Cody Franson, 25 Carlo Colaiacovo 31 Chad Johnson35 Linus Ullmark And, because I'm this desperate for a win tonight, I'll even highlight Gionta for this GDT Edited October 27, 2015 by WildCard Quote
Doohicksie Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 GO SABRES! Nice job, WC. Except for Nicky D up on the top line, those lines look just about right. I hope Deslauriers makes the most of his time on the first unit. Quote

Doohicksie Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Eich and Samson on the same line? Yes, please. I think I'd rather see Zemgus in place of Larsson though. Larsson isn't as bad as some of the recent comments though. I hope he makes the best of his time on the Jack to the Future line. Quote

Would like to see a finisher w/ those 2. Cough, cough, Moulson. The absolute abhorrence w/ playing Moulson on Jack's wing makes almost as much sense as forcing Jack & Evander together. Quote
... Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 I kind of like those lines. D-lo on the top? Can't say he hasn't earned a look there for all of the experimenting going on. I would prefer he and Larson swap, just to keep the kiddies safe, but Eichel did flash a little grit last game. Or, I would like to see Foligno with Jack and Samson. He has upped his game and is worth a look there. Quote
Doohicksie Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Or, I would like to see Foligno with Jack and Samson. He has upped his game and is worth a look there. Agreed. And don't forget who set up Jack's first goal. Quote
Rasmus_ Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 It's time for Eiceinsson to dominate! Get at it, boys! I am so going to watch this game! Eichel v Giroux! I love it! Quote
woods-racer Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) My win for this game is the Sabres scoring more that three goals. If they get a win, wonderful. Edited October 27, 2015 by Woods-Racer Quote

That Aud Smell Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 I know I'm too old to feel this way, but still: I hate the Flyers. One of the few franchises I still detest. And yeah: We're dating ourselves. It's that hate that makes this one of my favourite Sabre goals of all time. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Must WIN! The Sabres will be fine! Quote

It's that hate that makes this one of my favourite Sabre goals of all time. What could have been... sigh. The 8-0 win at home to oust the Flyers in 01 was, uh, enjoyable. Crummy video and no Rick, but this should still give your naughty bits a tingle. Quote
MattPie Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Well, this snuck up on me. I usually plan to watch the Flyers games with a couple local friends (or even go to a game or two) but I'm not sure I can swing it tonight. I think I need to get the proxy stuff set up pretty quick so I can queue up GCL without the local blackout. Quote

We didn't get nearly enough, but we'll always have 2005-06, and especially 7-6. As for an enjoyable win vs Philly: let's not forget the one that produced Hitch's walking papers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uADqfe_U-rM Quote

Eleven Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) If we're going to remember Filly games: "Robert Esche has lost it. He has lost it. He's down four-nothing and he's blown his cool. He's flipped his lid!" I'm going to look for the video now. Here it is. I remembered every word correctly. That's the power of RJ. http://youtu.be/NXApkh9iSUc?t=72 Edited October 27, 2015 by eleven Quote

pi2000 Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Deslauriers and Larsson on the top two lines? yikes. Both playing ahead of Moulson and Gionta? I'll allow it. Quote
Mustache of God Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 Buffalo sports fans need a win in the worst way.....I know I do Seriously. In addition to the Sabres and Bills this past weekend I had games in the two hockey leagues I play in on weekends and my teams lost both games. It's been a rough stretch of days. Quote
Brawndo Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 @BuffaloSabres: Lines this AM in Philadelphia: Deslauriers-O'Reilly-Ennis Larsson-Eichel-Reinhart Moulson-Girgensons-Gionta Foligno-Legwand/Schaller-McGinn @BuffNewsVogl: Sabres' power play: Moulson-O'Reilly-Reinhart, with Franson-Ennis, and Larsson-McGinn-Gionta, with Eichel-Ristolainen. #TheyMissKane Quote
