Jsixspd Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 If you didn't know who our backup goalie was, then yes - you do need to get your life in order. :nana: Taking a cue from "Idiocracy", Mr. "Not Sure" in net tonight for the Sabres. Quote
Ross Rhea Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Maybe the Canucks are willing to give up Miller. No thank you. Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) @JSportsnet: Told that Robin Lehner's skate got caught in a rut. Tough to know too much until swelling subsides. Sabres hoping just a sprain The cast looks bad, but that is always done to play safe. But do think he'll be out a couple of games atleast. I still f##king hate this trade. I never hated it, I thought it was a trade we can only judge in a year or so but if legwand turns out to be the best part of this deal everyone will hate it :P Edited October 9, 2015 by Huckleberry Quote
Jsixspd Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 If he's this fragile, how is he gonna last a season? Just moving around on his own, not even involved in game play at the time, he ends up on the DL for a lengthy period. ".....The Kids. They called me Mr. Glass!!!!" Quote
Eleven Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Goalies are a dime a dozen Not quite. I know that's the hive-mind right now, but just because Chicago was able to rattle off three Cups with solid D and amazing scorers doesn't mean that the position doesn't matter anymore. I don't think LA or Boston would have won without their goaltending, for example. HIller's one idea. I wouldn't mind seeing Enroth back, actually (not as a long-term solution), but I know he's too small for Murray to consider him. Quote
z-man Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 For some reason I doubt Murray trades for a goaltender to start for a month or two. If he didn't believe Chad Johnson could start for a month and play competently, he wouldn't have him on the roster. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 At least 2 years til Linus Ullmark, grrr Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 At least 2 years til Linus Ullmark, grrr I'm a bit more on the makarov train here :p Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I'm a bit more on the makarov train here :P Makarov could make it but I will remain on the Ullmark train, really hope he comes back strong from injury. Quote
Assquatch Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 @JSportsnet: Told that Robin Lehner's skate got caught in a rut. Tough to know too much until swelling subsides. Sabres hoping just a sprain Players seemed to be falling untouched a lot more than usual last night. Pucks seemed awful bouncy as well. I'd have thought the ice would be in the best shape it could be in last night. Quote

I just think they all play the angles well and are good athletes with good coaching. I was not upset when Johnson came in. Quote
SHAAAUGHT!!! Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) It will be interesting to see what the market rate for a goaltender is - if it turns out that Lehner is out for an extended period of time. It looks like there are several teams with NHL caliber goalie assets in their organizations. http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/nhl/the-nhls-supply-of-starting-goaltenders-exceeds-demand-i-dont-think-expansion-can-come-quick-enough-for-goalies Edited October 9, 2015 by SHAAAUGHT!!! JJFIVEOH Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 He's playing in Rochester, so what difference does it make. It could happen anywhere. Because he could be in BFLO sooner than we think and he's susceptible to concussions. Another one leaves us without another goaltender long term. Quote
Brawndo Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 @CraigCustance: Sabres haven't decided yet if they'll enter goalie trade market following Lehner injury. Too early in process. Quote
Hoss Posted October 9, 2015 Author Report Posted October 9, 2015 Linus Ullmark practicing with the Sabres. Quote
darksabre Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Keri Lehtonen anyone? As some kind of weird Dr. Frankenstein body parts donor for Lehner? Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I vote not trading for anyone. Bring up Makarov and let him and Johnson split time. We would at least know if Makarov could hack it. What's Marty Biron up too? Quote
nfreeman Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I vote not trading for anyone. Bring up Makarov and let him and Johnson split time. We would at least know if Makarov could hack it. You are saying this without knowing how long Lehner is out for. What if he's gone for the season? Your plan would essentially write off the season. Quote
pi2000 Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I still f##king hate this trade. Same. Talbot looked good, as did M. Jones. Would've rather had either of those two for a first round pick. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Keri Lehtonen anyone? He's signed for two more years after this season with a $5.9 million cap hit. Bad fit IMO. Quote
nfreeman Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 He's signed for two more years after this season with a $5.9 million cap hit. Bad fit IMO. And he's injury-prone and pretty mediocre. No thank you. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 And he's injury-prone and pretty mediocre. No thank you. When talking about dealing for somebody's backup in-season, mediocre is the name of the game :p Quote

What's Marty Biron up too? I tweeted Marty something like that last year when the Sabres were out of GTs, and he replied "I'm crazy, but not that crazy." Quote
