Hoss Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl Robin Lehner's injury is not expected to be short term, coach Dan Bylsma says. Yikes... Not a good start. Quote
Weave Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I'm not going to panic until after the details. Nope. Not gonna. no. Mmm mmm. *runs in circles, hands flailing in the air* Quote
SDS Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I'm not going to panic until after the details. Nope. Not gonna. no. Mmm mmm. *runs in circles, hands flailing in the air* Seems like we were panicking with him playing anyway. So, stay the course? Quote
pi2000 Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Seems like we were panicking with him playing anyway. So, stay the course? His injury changes nothing he was shaky at best. OchoCinco looked deece. Quote
Assquatch Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 His injury changes nothing he was shaky at best. OchoCinco looked deece. He needs work. Now he no gets work. Quote
WildCard Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Seems like we were panicking with him playing anyway. So, stay the course? We were, but at least he had shown he can play in this league, an he was getting much better after that first goal Quote
pastajoe Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Calgary is looking to unload one of their three goalies. Quote
Thorner Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 His injury changes nothing he was shaky at best. OchoCinco looked deece. Lehner looked decent too. In fact, after the first goal, he looked good. As others have said, he needs playing time to shake off the rust. Now he has to wait longer for that. Hopefully Johnson can hold the fort until Lehner can come back. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I'd start making a call to Calgary and see what it would take for Hiller Quote
dudacek Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Lehner actually looked as good as he has in Blue and Gold — big and in control. Franson and O'Reilly hung him out to dry on that first goal. Sucks for him, but if it's long-term we need to add a goalie. Johnson/Lieuwen will have us out of the playoffs by Christmas. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Hiller seems like the logical target. At 33 and expensive with Ramo the #1, he's clearly not in the long-term plans in Calgary. We have plenty of cap space to absorb the salary, and I bet we could get him pretty cheap. Plus he's at least decent. 5th rounder or so? Edited October 9, 2015 by TrueBlueGED Quote
WildCard Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I like the idea of Hiller a lot, especially if we can snag him with a 5th Quote
... Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Maybe the Canucks are willing to give up Miller. Quote
GrassValleyGreg Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Seems like we were panicking with him playing anyway. So, stay the course? People who overreacted to a guy coming off a concussion and getting his legs under him in preseason were panicking. Anybody who has seen this guy play at full confidence knows the talent he is. And he showed it tonight. Huge loss. Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) It's obvious this team needs a goalie but more importantly some defense. It's too early to tell will Robin is going to be. Edited October 9, 2015 by SabresBillsFan Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I hope it doesn't come down to having to rely on Lieuwen for any length of time. One more concussion could finish his career. Quote
deluca67 Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Of all the players that could of ended up injured last night, Lehner concerns me the least. I have very low expectations for him as the Sabres goalie to begin with. Quote
pastajoe Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I hope it doesn't come down to having to rely on Lieuwen for any length of time. One more concussion could finish his career. He's playing in Rochester, so what difference does it make. It could happen anywhere. Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Maybe the Canucks are willing to give up Miller. That would be nice but they gave up Lack already, I think they want two goalies that can play in the NHL. Hiller would be nice but wouldn't do more than a 4th rounder seeing his UFA status. They are carrying 3 goalies up to this point, might even be able to pick him off waivers. Edited October 9, 2015 by Huckleberry Quote
Eleven Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Let me put it this way: I have spent an incredibly wasteful portion of my life following the Buffalo Sabres. I have spent ten years on this board and another ten before that on another board. I am a season ticket holder. I spent years of my life at sports bars watching this team before I moved back home (and before it was possible to get Center Ice over cable). I believe that I am a fan who is relatively well-informed. And yet, I had no idea the name of the Sabres' backup goalie until last night. I suggest that this means the Sabs have a serious problem in net right now. I also suggest that I need to get my life in order, but that's another situation beyond the scope of this thread. Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 If Calgary askes more than a 4th rounder for hiller, I'd just play Makarov and wait for them to waive one of their goalies. Quote

If you didn't know who our backup goalie was, then yes - you do need to get your life in order. :nana: Quote
Brawndo Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 @JSportsnet: Told that Robin Lehner's skate got caught in a rut. Tough to know too much until swelling subsides. Sabres hoping just a sprain Quote
