Coke is only prohibited in competition, so as long as he quit for a week or so ahead, he would have been fine.

 

If you drink enough water, coke can be completely out of your system (undetectable) in 24hrs.    The problem with coke is it keeps you up all night... enter one Mike Richards with his stockpile of oxy's and norco's for that restful night sleep after a night of getting completely spracked.

Wouldn't he have been tested and found guilty during the 2006 Olympics?

 

I don't know that much about it, just that the incident with him getting kicked out of practice was late in the season.  His behavior was erratic throughout the season, but it came to head, he was kicked out of practice, had a big falling out in the press with Torts, tanked in the playoffs, and was not re-signed.
