Hoss Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 http://www.tsn.ca/adidas-lands-nhl-jersey-deal-1.346839 Sounds like major changes coming as well as advertising on jerseys. If the NBA is an example of what Adidas does the NHL just got a whole lot uglier and gimmicky. (Reebok is a subsidiary of Adidas, but they produce their own designs separate from Adidas right now) Quote
Taro T Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Yea!!! Advertising on unis and what's not to love about German soccer unis? /sarcasm Herr Bettman, Gott im Himmel, bist du verruckt? Quote
Huckleberry Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 I' don't mind a little bit of advertising but as long as there aren't like 10 companies on the jerseys. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Anything for a buck, those pricks. Quote
LGR4GM Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 bet season ticket prices still go up even after they get money from jersey add revenue Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Also, now going to wait to buy jerseys. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Hey Bettman, I have a better way to increase HRR: move the teams that can't get more than 9000 tickets sold to a game. As much as I feel this was inevitable, it still sucks. Also, now going to wait to buy jerseys. Dollars to donuts they get uglier. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Also, not sure why Adidas is forcing their brand, they already have established hockey branding in CCM and, cough, Reebok. Quote
LGR4GM Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Also, now going to wait to buy jerseys. Might want to buy a jersey now before the new ulgy ones arrive... Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Might want to buy a jersey now before the new ulgy ones arrive... Argh. Might be right. I'll wait until the day they announce them, when there's hopefully some stock leftover. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 This makes me even happier that I just picked up a Chinese knockoff #11 jersey for $30. Quote
tom webster Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 bet season ticket prices still go up even after they get money from jersey add revenue Sorry LGR4GM but this is one of my pet peeves. Ticket prices have nothing to do with other revenue or expenses. It is all supply and demand. If all the players agreed to play for free ticket prices would still be the same as long as the public paid the price. Quote
Weave Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 Good thing I don't feel compelled to buy sports jerseys anymore. Too bad I'll have to watch ads on jerseys on TV. Quote
3putt Posted August 18, 2015 Report Posted August 18, 2015 Also, not sure why Adidas is forcing their brand, they already have established hockey branding in CCM and, cough, Reebok. Their property CCM, has the next big thing in the sport under contract. Leveraging that will give their brand another global face with a decided Canadian roots. Nike has McIlroy, UA Spieth now CCM/Adidas has McJesus. Smart move to move now if he will be the face of ads on jerseys. Quote
7+6=13 Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 I' don't mind a little bit of advertising but as long as there aren't like 10 companies on the jerseys. I think it all depends on the companies advertised too. For example if it's local companies that most fans identify with anyway I think it could be a real good idea. Quote
Huckleberry Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) I think it all depends on the companies advertised too. For example if it's local companies that most fans identify with anyway I think it could be a real good idea. I always wondered why the ice surface isn't used for advertising a bit more though, like in europe. As it for being local companies, Its a national game so doubt there will be much loval advertising. Marvelo Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Great move for the National Hard-up League. How about helmets, visors, gloves and skates? Maybe next face tattoos w corporate logos? I do wonder when the home teams will wear white again... Edited August 20, 2015 by 716 Quote
7+6=13 Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 Great move for the National Hard-up League. How about helmets, visors, gloves and skates? Maybe next face tattoos w corporate logos? I do wonder when the home teams will wear white again... Well they better figure out some kind of creative way to get more money in or figure out a way to get back on prime time TV. Quote
LabattBlue Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 Are they getting rid of those stupid tapered jerseys? Quote
