SDS Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 when I 1st hit the ice, the undersides of my feet cramp and become very fatigued. Is this a sign of something other than weak feet that need to build stamina? Also, I get a pain in my power back right behind my left hip bone. Again, is there something i should do for this?

Weak feet, probably. Skates too tight, probably. As for your back, I get that once in awhile when I take too long a shift. Sounds like you need to build your stamina.

Kevbeau Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 The back thing is stamina, you'll gradually build up your lower back muscles as you play more. Excercise away from the rink helps also. Many fitness experts stress working lower back with abs as it all ties in together...I've found this to be pretty sound advice. Foot cramping. Usually get when breaking in skates or I haven't skated in a while. Again, as you play more, it should alleviate.
