At least Ehrhoff doesn't count against the cap.

qwksndmonster
Darcy with TP's money was like a monkey with a bazooka. Ehrhoff's bank account caught the rocket, thankfully.

Huckleberry
I'd sign him again on a 3 year deal.
Doohicksie
I'd sign him again on a 3 year deal. Not a Tim Murray type player (wuttever that means)
Huckleberry
Not a Tim Murray type player (wuttever that means) a top 4 LHD who can back up the powerplay for 3 years should be he his type of player. But the bridge probably is already burned with the buyout.

While I can understand a player getting butt hurt about being bought out, if my former employer tells me they are willing to pay me twice to come work for them, I might have a listen. Doohicksie
was thinking more along the line of pegula not willing to pay him twice :P I think Pegula is enough of a businessman to separate those two issues. The buyout is being paid no matter who the Sabres employ going forward and is a set expense. It has nothing to do with employment of a defenseman going forward, and if it turns out to be Ehrhoff, so be it- he'll want the best player for the best incremental cost.
