Derrico Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 So while driving to Pittsburgh this past weekend for our hockey tournament we received a call from the Amerks. Apparently my son won some reading contest in conjunction with the Amerks. We got 6 suite tickets for the game on the 21st and he's going to get to drop the puck at the start of the game. I have a hard time typing this and repeating it each time thinking about what this means to him. He's beyond stoked. Great to hear LTS. How old is your son? Quote

LTS Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Great to hear LTS. How old is your son? 34. He's the biggest PeeWee on his team too. I mean, they say holding kids back so they can be successful can really help their confidence levels. I'm looking forward to him being a Bantam so we can start checking the other kids though. At 36 I think he'll really be able to lay the hurting on the other team. He's basically 12. (a few weeks from it) Quote

Ogre Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 We're not in our seats tonight. Work for one of us and 7am class for the other. I am told that Catenacci has the night's only goal so far. Quote
inkman Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 2-1 OT Win. Ullmark stood on his head all game. He was amazing. Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 2-1 OT Win. Ullmark stood on his head all game. He was amazing. He should be Lehners back up next year I think. Or de we keep him down developping for another year ? Quote
Sabel79 Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 I have a feeling he'll be Lehner's backup in a week or so. Quote

French Collection Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Ullmark with 51 saves to beat Syracuse. Quote
inkman Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Ullmark with 51 saves to beat Syracuse. http://www.amerks.com/recap/20160220 Schaller also with the hat trick. The line of Bailey-Schaller-Carrier had a nine point night. Quote

qwksndmonster Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 WOW Yeah that was freakin' crazy. Even the homer arena replay guys showed it on the jumbo tron. It immediately made me root for the Caps to come back in the last minute. Quote

The big kid in the puck drop photo is mine. What an awesome time. The Amerks looked really tired (3rd game in 3 days) but they pulled out the win. Carrier looked really good out there. Quote

I had remembered that was you're boy when they announced the reading champs. Handsome young chap. How was the food? Quote
LTS Posted February 24, 2016 Report Posted February 24, 2016 Typical suite food. Chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. it wasn't amazing but it's always better tasting when it didn't cost you anything. Quote

inkman Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) Ehh...the amerks lost 10-5 to the Marlies, who always "federal pound me in the ass prison" style beat them. Linus Ullmark gave up 6 goals on 20 shots. Liuwen was markedly better giving up 3 goals on ten shots. If it makes anyone feel any better, the Amerks worst players are their vets. Robak and Sanguinetti were both -5 today. Carrier and Schaller were an impressive 0 with the 5 goal differential. Edited February 27, 2016 by inkman Quote
