Trettioåtta Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I like this. Guy puts up great AHL numbers. Didn't play much in the NHL last season - coach didn't like him apparently. Maybe he was their CoHo Quote
dudacek Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 He's the Benoit replacement - 8-9 on the depth chart Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 This is a really interesting signing, definitly gonna compete for the bottom pairing spot Quote
nfreeman Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 He just turned 25. He's from Oklahoma -- there can't be too many NHLers from there. 6'0", 200. Drafted by Islanders in 4th round in 2008. 12 NHL games last season, 52 the year before, 3 the year before that. Sounds like an Amerk. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 GM TM meant it when he said he wants to win in Roch, too. Quote
Taro T Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 GM TM meant it when he said he wants to win in Roch, too. Well, in fairness, he did bring in a truckload of AHLers last year also. It's just, this year's AHLers might actually play in the AHL. Quote

Formerly Allan in MD Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I like this. Guy puts up great AHL numbers. Didn't play much in the NHL last season - coach didn't like him apparently. Maybe he was their CoHo I'd rather have a defensman who can play defense rather than put up big numbers, unless his name is Orr, Pronger, and a few others. Quote

LGR4GM Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Just going to leave this here... Kris Baker @SabresProspects 4m4 minutes ago Still early in off-season, but Donovan could actually make the Sabres roster. Depends on other moves. Always liked him going back to DU. Quote

Johnny DangerFace Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Oh hell noIslanders fans were annoyed to lose him and really wanted him to play more last year. I think he deserves a chance to earn a bottom pairing role. He was also a free agent sleeper. I'm interested (He's got a 200 post hype thread on the islanders hf forum lol Edited July 2, 2015 by Johnny DangerFace Quote
nobody Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Great interview with Donovan on Sabres Hockey Hotline today - if they post in on GR you should listen. He actually was up with the Islanders for the entire season last year but was scratched 70 times. Let's not forget that the Isle added Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy which pushed down everyone else in the rankings. Sounds like he has his head on right and will be given a fair opportunity to make the team. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 He actually was up with the Islanders for the entire season last year but was scratched 70 times. Can't tell if that's better or worse than playing in Bridgeport. Quote
Taro T Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Can't tell if that's better or worse than playing in Bridgeport. Mike Weber, please meet the new Mike Weber. (But apparently, this one scores at the AHL level. ;)) Quote
