ROC Sabres Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Bookies will be available at each aisle seat to place bets in game along with a secondary ticker for up to date odds. Quote

sabills Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Las Vegas Wranglers. I know they won't be because the NHL doesn't want the association with gambling, but they should be the Aces. That'd be awesome. Or the Craps. Quote
Robviously Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Cool. Let me know when they approve the move of the team from Las Vegas to a market that will support an NHL team. Quote
darksabre Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I know they won't be because the NHL doesn't want the association with gambling, but they should be the Aces. That'd be awesome. Or the Craps. Boxcars. Quote
Rasmus_ Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Arizona has been a joke of a market for a long time. Albeit for their Mike Smith standing on his head tour to the WCF, they've been a tire fire the entire time otherwise. Quote
nucci Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) I know they won't be because the NHL doesn't want the association with gambling, but they should be the Aces. That'd be awesome. Or the Craps. No, they would prefer an Expansion fee as opposed to a relocation fee...difference is hundreds of millions of dollars. What association with gambling? There's gambling everywhere. Vegas isn't building an arena just for fun. Edited July 1, 2015 by nucci Quote

BelieveinBuffalo Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I am not surprised at the news...You have a few diehard Yotes fans, but most people are unattached to the team. Also, the City of Glendale is run by a bunch of idiots who have done this stuff before. Quote
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 What association with gambling? There's gambling everywhere. Vegas isn't building an arena just for fun. ^^^ This. If the suites and seats are sold, that is all that matters to the owners and Bettman. Quote

What association with gambling? There's gambling everywhere. Vegas isn't building an arena just for fun. How about the Shuckers? Cause you know every time a person loses a big bet they're goinng ah...****! If a goal is scored against Las Vegas, people will stay damn *uckers! There's a minor league baseball in team in Biloxi, MS, a casino city, that has that name. When the name was announced, people immediately slammed/joked about it. Making joke after joke involving the f bomb. It was rather funny to be honest. Would be bad for families attending the game though. It's one of the reasons people in Biloxi were not happy w/ the team being name the Shuckers. Let me add I don't support a team being named Shuckers. Edited July 1, 2015 by Thanes16 Quote
Eleven Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Them's some vehement denials from the league. Just like with Atlanta. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Just like with Atlanta. Don't recall those, but the stuff I read from the league last night was stuff that would be almost impossible to walk back. Any chance there's truth to it, but it is coming from the putative Vegas owner? Quote
sabills Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 What association with gambling? There's gambling everywhere. Vegas isn't building an arena just for fun. LV is getting a team, one way or the other; I just mean the name. If you call them the Gamblers or something associated with gambling even tangentially there will be an association with gambling on sports, which all leagues are fairly desperate to avoid (see: Pete Rose). Honestly, I'm pretty sure that's why there hasn't been a big four team in Vegas before. Quote

Doohicksie Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Rat Pack? http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/12551758/nhl-here-our-suggested-las-vegas-expansion-team-nicknames The Nordiques, of course! The way I see it, once we all realize what a stupid idea hockey in Vegas is, the NHL can move the team to Quebec City in five years -- after attendance has dropped to 3,000 a game -- without having to change its name. And guess what, they're building a rink in Quebec City as we speak! Wait a minute, move a team to a market where people actually live and breathe the game? That's a crazy idea! - Pierre LeBrun Las Vegas Vegans. I was trying to come up with something that began with V and sadly, that's the best I could come up with as well. Well, that, and something that probably wouldn't get past the cussing filter. Quote
