X. Benedict Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 I like Kadri, figured they'd want him inked for longer than one year. I think they like the idea of pumping his numbers and moving him. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 I think they like the idea of pumping his numbers and moving him. Maybe, but can backfire on them. If Kadri has a huge season it could suppress his trade value as the new team will be on the hook for that performance. A guy outperforming a long term contract would be more attractive. I just don't think they trust him. Quote
dudacek Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 The question marks at forward aren't bottom six, they are top six. Are Kane and O'Reilly legitimate top-line material? How good can Eichel, Reinhart and Girgensons be? Our bottom six stacks up very well with pretty much any team in the league Quote

How good can Eichel, Reinhart and Girgensons be? Our bottom six stacks up very well with pretty much any team in the league There is no question about Kane's top line ability nor O'Reilly's. Kane is a blazing power winger who can hit 30 goals with talent around him O'Reilly is a Selke calibur player that gets better when given more responsibility. He will thrive with top C duties. IMO O'Reilly and Eichel will have quite the battle for Captaincy once Gionta retires Girgensons is all heart & can score 20-25 over a full season My only question is how good Reinhart can be. Quote

Jamie McGinn scored 19 two years ago and David Legwand put up 51 points. Cody Hodgson had 20 goals that year and is the same age as our new studs. 19 goals — Evander Kane has played six years. That was his second best season. Once — The number of times Ryan O'Reilly has topped 55 points in six seasons. I know they bring other elements and that we likely haven't seen their peak. I like the acquisitions of Kane and O'Reilly a lot, but it's naive to say there's no questions about their top-line ability. Quote

Peppy22 Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Semin is looking for a 1y deal. Maybe a Hodgson kind of deal could be an option. 1y 1mio for Semin. If it pays off well great... if not... well... Quote

shrader Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 I'd rather bring back Stewart. He makes more sense for the team build. I haven't been to a game in a while now. Does Sabretooth still play that drum? Semin could fit in there. Quote
LGR4GM Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 I like the idea of Semin. A real sniper on this team would go along way... Semin plays about as much defense as you would in a game of hacky sack, so doesn't fit this team. Quote
Rasmus_ Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Semin plays about as much defense as you would in a game of hacky sack, so doesn't fit this team. He's also a headache from what most Caps boards/fans have said. He's enigmatic and while he might play motivated this season, I don't even want him to tamper with the development of the young guys. If you want to add another top 6 forward, I'm all about Stewart or Glencross. Quote

Huckleberry Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Stewart/glencross shouldn't be considered a top 6 forward though. I was thinking on how cool it would be to have a miroslav Satan type sniper in our line up. Quote

Huckleberry Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Aim higher Yeah i know, but just saying an extra 30 - 40 goal scorer on our top two lines would be nice. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 Yeah i know, but just saying an extra 30 - 40 goal scorer on our top two lines would be nice. Calling Semin a 30-40 goal scorer is like calling Briere a 90 point player. Been a really long time since it was true. He's also a headache from what most Caps boards/fans have said. He's enigmatic and while he might play motivated this season, I don't even want him to tamper with the development of the young guys. If you want to add another top 6 forward, I'm all about Stewart or Glencross. If Stewart was Russian he'd have been slapped with the enigmatic tag a long time ago. I don't understand why you think he'd a top-6 forward. If he were so valuable there'd be a bidding war for him. Quote

WildCard Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 A Hodgson kind of player. Hodgson is definitely a kind of Semin Quote
