K-9 Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Canucks fans are livid about Benning's moves. Can't stand his player/trade value evaluations and his indecision to either go for the playoffs or start the rebuild Nobody knows the reality of that philosophy better than us. GO SABRES!!! Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Doesn't seem much happening for us, waiting on that top 4 lhd. Only Oduya left it seems for us. Quote
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 You know what I like about Oduya... Even as he plays into his 30's, he continues to be a guy who doesn't miss many games. I would be okay with giving him 4 years, and if push came to shove, I'd give him 5. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Murray says he received a call about Saad but that was about it. He said "one of us moved on." Quote
WildCard Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Murray says he received a call about Saad but that was about it. He said "one of us moved on." It was interesting how he phrased that. It sounds like the Hawks initiated that conversation, so it sounds like they had someone specific in mind they wanted from us. If I had to guess I would bet Ennis or Girgensons would be going to the Hawks in that deal. If that was to be the case, I'm actually glad we took O'Reilly instead. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 By the way, I've been monitoring flight plans for the PegulaJet all day. It left from BNIA around 10am to pick someone up or drop someone off at Savannah/Hilton Head around noon/1pm today and returned to BNIA around 3pm. My guess: someone's golfing this morning and they got picked up to return in time for the press conference. CoughTerrycough. Also possibly ROR; no word on his whereabouts. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Craig Custance @CraigCustance Deal with Bruins isn't done yet but fair to say they're emerging as the favorite to land Matt Beleskey. He's about three hours north in Ontario or here. He said it on NHLN a couple nights ago. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Yeah Bluewater, ON, which is or is near his hometown. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Craig Custance @CraigCustance Deal with Bruins isn't done yet but fair to say they're emerging as the favorite to land Matt Beleskey. L-O-freakin-L. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 L-O-freakin-L. They're pathetic. Hehehehehehe Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Bob McKenzie retweeted Bill Hoppe @BillHoppeNHL 8m8 minutes ago Murray also said the Sabres have signed Jason Akeson. Another legit forward for Rochester. Quote
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 While the Bruins the bed on draft day, they still have some good players. I can see them competing for a playoff spot this season...assuming Chara has something left in the tank. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Told Matt Beleskey very close on 5 yr deal to Boston. Matt Hackett signs with Ducks AHL backup. Career never got off the ground for him. Never liked his attitude. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Not only is BOS closing in on Matt Beleskey, but also hearing Bruins are working on a deal with FLA for Jimmy Hayes. Edited July 1, 2015 by Hoss Quote
nucci Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 3.8 per for Beleskey is reasonable, imo. I don't see how....just by looking at his stats as I've not seen him play much, http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8473492 Quote
nfreeman Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I'm pretty curious as to whether the Sabres are in the mix on Oduya. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 3.8 per for Beleskey is reasonable, imo. It's not terrible, but the fact remains they're paying a 3rd liner and 3rd pair Dman what they could be paying their budding franchise defenseman. Quote
tom webster Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I'm pretty curious as to whether the Sabres are in the mix on Oduya. I believe Oduya is going to re up with Chicago once they take care of their cap issues Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 But then they couldn't have drafted those three guys, none of which I remember the names or positions of, despite seeing them be drafted live. And I wasn't drinking. Much. Quote
WildCard Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I believe Oduya is going to re up with Chicago once they take care of their cap issues Sounds like you're right Craig Custance: Blackhawks remain an option for Johnny Oduya. They'd like to keep him, cap space still an issue. Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Murray knows he needs a defenseman or two but I'm guessing he looking at 1-2 guys that are younger so they can grow with the team. My opinion is he is gonna move a player, prospect or pick for what he wants. I'm not to crazy about moving anymore of our prospects like Bailey, Bapiste or Fasching. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 In the same vein, that's why it was surprising to me that Compher was moved. But it's now well-demonstrated GMTM has no hesitation in moving assets to receive assets. I'm on board for the Cup run. Quote
Hoss Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Vermette back to SeaVegaZona. Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva Antoine Vermette signe un contrat de deux ans avec les Coyotes. Quote
Brawndo Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Desert Tank Warfare 2.0 @TheFourthPeriod: Don't expect Cody Franson to sign somewhere tonight. Barring a change in talks this evening, he'll likely make a decision tomorrow. Edited July 2, 2015 by BRAWNDO Quote
