apuszczalowski Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Potential for potential. Neither panned out. EVERYBODY in on the debate of who won was wrong, except for those that chose neither / wash. What could have had the bang for the buck of 2 M-80's ended up fizzling out on both ends. Too bad. Hopefully they get their heads out of their bippies in their new digs, but wouldn't want to have money on it. Well technically the Canucks still were able to use their piece of that deal to obtain a pick and Prust, Buffalo gets the privelege of paying Hodgson a couple million to go away....... Quote

apuszczalowski Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 2 out of 3 Reinharts traded in the last week. I hope we trade our Reinhart for Lucic. Now you just have to think Murray is in his office thinking he has to make a deal using Sam in the next few days just to make it a Reinhart trifecta! After they picked up O'Reillys brother today, you would have thought for the cost of what the Oilers and Preds paid Murray could have reunited all the Reinharts on the team too. Then he just needed to get the better Foligno to complete the "Family" Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Don't ruin it for him. ;) I think we clearly won the trade because Hodgson was crucial in getting eichel last season Quote
dudacek Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Posted this in the Hodgson thread, but maybe better suited for here: From the endless and now-locked Hodgson for Kassian thread: dudacek Posted 26 April 2012 - 05:24 AM It's pretty hard to dispute this trade was made because each GM was convinced the player he gave up was never going to be the player the fans were hoping for. This thread is going to be pretty funny in five years when we realize we were arguing about Taylor Pyatt for Jamie Lundmark. Taro T Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Don't ruin it for him. ;) I thought the friggin' trade was potential for potential but would work out for both sides as they both theoretically got something they desperately needed. But at least I didn't see stardom for either. Weren't you one of the ones w/ a raging hard on for Zach? How'd that work out? (Care to borrow a  smiley? ) Quote

Anyway, disagree that it makes the Habs tougher. Prust was sandpaper, Kassian is mostly perimeter. Quote

SabresBillsFan Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 To me Hodgson has some offensive skill but its becoming more of a speed game and let's face it Cody skating is mediocre and his defensive mind is non-existent. He might fit in Nashville because they have solid defense. Quote

Weren't you one of the ones w/ a raging hard on for Zach? How'd that work out? (Care to borrow a  smiley? ) The Sabres did not need another smallish soft forward no matter what position he played. Anyone who thought Cody Hodgson could fill any need for the Sabres was just wrong. So many people we so enthralled with the idea that he worked out with Gary Roberts and that he played center that they forgot to take a close look at the actual player. Much like Villie Leino. As far as Kassian, my belief that young players with size, grit and some offensive talent will always have value to teams stands firm today, no pun intended. Zach Kassian has value to a team like the Canadians and will bring to them much needed size that can, when healthy, play with top six forwards even though I don't see him as a regular top six forward. I hope Cody Hodgson finds his passion in Nashville. Maybe it's country music or bar-b-que because it sure isn't hockey which was evident four years ago. Kassian has a passion and desire to play this game, which was also evident four years ago, so much so it gets away from him and he loses his head time to time. Either way, please continue to proclaim your "push" while Kassian continues his NHL career and Hodgson continues his path to the Canadian bar leagues where he will regularly be getting out worked and out hustled by 48 year old divorcees. Either way, please continue to proclaim your "push" while Kassian continues his NHL career and Hodgson continues his path to the Canadian bar leagues where he will regularly be getting out worked and out hustled by 48 year old divorcees. The "Concept of Kassian" is strong with this one. There is a reason that the Canucks sent Kassian AND a pick (not the other way round) (so sorry for "ruining it for you" ;)) to the Habs. They wanted to "get TOUGHER." (Jim Benning's word, not mine.) Consistency and toughness. 2 things Kassian hasn't brought yet and that's what bumped him off 2 different teams. (Check out Benning's quotes on NHL.com if you don't / can't believe that.) Craig Button was ripping him after the trade for wanting to be a skill guy that's big and NOT using his size. He is "a guy that's easy to play against, EASILY (his emphasis, not mine) taken out of a game." It would appear that this Kassian is not the Kassian you're looking for. :p Heck, Kassian himself admits that he needs to pick up his game. "Deep down I think I could have gave more and they (the Canucks) knew that." As stated before, I hope he does figure it out, but I wouldn't want to have any money on it. Quote
LGR4GM Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 nope, just checked, no more f#%ks to give about kassian or hodgson Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Oh please, Hodgson isn't as good as I though he was gonna be, but this isn't the time for I Told You Sos from Kaddish supporters. And if Hodgson didn't have that ridiculous deal he could have been traded for a prust, don't kid yourself... Both have been crap with flashes of NHL potential, you saying your turd is shinier is just silly. He was traded for prust. And Vancouver even had to add a draft pick Edited July 2, 2015 by Johnny DangerFace Quote
bunomatic Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Lets face it. Both the Canucks and Sabres lost that deal. No winners here. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Well, Hodgson had that decent season. I think that's something. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I, for one, am happy that we will not have to argue the merits of which of two fatally flawed mid-1st round picks is best served to be a top player on the team. Quote

Taro T Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Is that one equation with two variables? Appears to be a 2nd equation w/ only 1 variable below the 1st and instructions. So, it's 1 of 3 things: 1. a properly (easily) solvable pair of equations; 2. a test to see if His Kassian-ness realizes that you don't have enough info from the single equation to identify a single x-y pair to solve the equation; or 3. an indication that Mr. Bieksa is as mathematically challenged as is His Kassian-ness. No, the equation below is the same equation, just expanded. Quote
