image.JPGI think it is nice that the Islanders are going with the 3rd Jersey designed by a talented 6th grader, or a couple a drunks saying, I think that works.

It's the Brooklyn version of OneBuffalo.  The Brooklyn Nets have black and white unis.  It kind of makes sense to apply that color scheme to the Islanders' thirds.

Honestly haven't looked closely at the Isles primary duds in a long time (if ever). Do they have any black on them? Guess they must or the rule that 3rds can only make use of colors already on the primary sweaters/logo no longer is enforced.

That rule also being known as the "Chicago can choose any friggin' color unis it wants because of all the friggin' colors in its logo."

I bet there's a black copyright or trademark symbol somewhere in there.  That would be a fun way to create a loophole.

I'm sure the NHL logo is on all the uniforms somewhere, which is black and silver. :)

This guy has an interesting take on this season's outcome

http://thehockeywriters.com/predicting-the-2016-eastern-conference-playoff-teams/

Atlantic:

1) Tampa Bay

2) Montreal

3) Buffalo

That’s right, I’m sipping the Sabres’ Jack Eichel Kool-Aid much more than I am the Connor McDavid Edmonton Oilers’ Kool-Aid. This is primarily because of the conference differences. The East has been getting better, but the West is still superior. Buffalo with Eichel and O’Reilly as their top two centers will once again be a competitive team. While I’m not sold on Robin Lehner in net, wingers like Matt Moulson, Evander Kane and Tyler Ennis are a decent supplement for Eichel and O’Reilly. Not to mention 2014 second overall pick Sam Reinhart could potentially make the Sabres incredibly dangerous down the middle one, two and three. Defensive depth has me worried, but the firepower and new-found confidence/buzz around this city will push this team into a playoff spot in the lesser conference.

Metropolitan:

1) NYI

2) NYR

3) Washington

Wildcard:

1) Pittsburgh

2) CBJ

As an aside, I hate whoever came up with the new division names

Blackhawks sign Seabrook to an 8yr/$54.8 mil extension. He'll be 31 when it kicks in.

A very interesting contract. IMO Keith is head and shoulders above Seabrook. The Hawks have identified their Core 4, and have them all relatively young and locked up for almost another decade. They could easily pull another 2 cups out of this before they disband

Imagine a Sabres-Blackhawks Cup Final in a few years. So many story lines. Definitely not who I'd want to face if that's our first Cup appearance though

Interesting points, I agree Keith is better than Seabrook. Only problem I see for them is if they keep riding Keith and Seabrook in the playoffs the way they have been, there is no way they last to 35. Especially Keith, he was ridden hard last year.

And if they get another 1-2 Cups, nobody will care...but that contract has ugly written all over it during the back half. Edited by TrueBlueGED

If a few years, is 3, I would pick Buffalo to win.  The hawks would have to seriously reload between now and then.  They are starting to age.
