dudacek Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 A 1st and a 3rd is great value for Huberdeau. I would do it if we could flip a couple mid-roster players for a top-four LD. Not big on offer sheets though and I'd kinda like to see what we have before we make any more moves.

Sabres make that move and now LW is a major position of strength. Could one of the top 4 LW's that would be listed on the depth chart (adding Larsson in here) & a solid RW prospect (Fasching, Bailey, or Baptiste) get converted into a true top young (mid-20-ish) RW or LHD?
Hoss Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 You'd be selling low on Moulson because you're not trading Kane or Huberdeau... And trading Moulson takes away the whole Eichel living with him for the season thing. I don't think it's a move that makes sense for this team. I would be all over if it if I were just about any other young team. Or Boston.

Hoss Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Or RW. We have next to nothing at RW.
Thorner Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Or RW. Yup. I would be jumping on this if I were Murray and Huberdeau was a RW. I'm still fairly interested in that his upside is so high, but I think I would rather use whatever it would take to acquire him towards getting a RW instead.
Huckleberry Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 I like Huberdeau. As to the Nelson thing... the f#@k? Clock ticking on Brock Nelson NEWSDAY: Arthur Staple reports agent Ron Salcer, who represents New York Islanders restricted free agent winger Brock Nelson, hasn’t heard from management in six weeks. The Islanders have reportedly offered a two-year deal, which Salcer claims isn’t fair, saying the first year is worth half of what comparable players are earning, while the second is worth a third. Salcer cited Minnesota Wild’s Mikael Granlund (two years, $6 million), Montreal Canadiens’ winger Alex Galchenyuk (two years, $5.6 million), Ottawa Senators center Mika Zibanejad (two years, $5.25 million) and Carolina Hurricanes forward Elias Lindholm (two-year, $5.4 million). The Islanders policy is players who aren’t re-signed when training camp opens are out for the entire season. SPECTOR’S NOTE: The deadline for Nelson to re-sign is September 16. As he’s a restricted free agent without arbitration rights (he’s coming off an entry-level contract), he and his agent have no leverage. They can’t even threaten a holdout. The Isles are betting Nelson will blink first. We’ll find out for certain by the end of tomorrow. Damn that is crazy :D
Cereal Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 [brock Nelson stuff] That's a crazy scenario. Is there not precedent for this? There has to be some option for Nelson here, right? Otherwise, it seems that teams could low-ball players in this situation all the time. Is there something very unique about Nelson that I'm not seeing?
Drunkard Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 If Nelson is a RFA can't he solicit an offer sheet from another team? I thought all ELC's were 3 years and as long as a team make him a qualifying offer they retain his rights but if they can't agree on a contract the player could still sign an offer sheet with another team. Maybe I have it wrong though.
thewookie1 Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) I'd be interested in Nelson seeing as he played with Eichel at Worlds. If they don't blink the NYI will be left with a player unsigned, who hates the GMs guts Edited September 16, 2015 by thewookie1

WildCard Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 That's a terrible reason for wanting a player, would you like Hendricks and Lewis and Mike Smith too? Isn't that why Rodrigues is here?
LGR4GM Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 I'd offer sheet Brock Nelson or try to trade for him except I have no f'ing clue where he would play on this team. I am so happy I can't find 40 slots to put better players anymore. I may weep.
TrueBlueGED Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/subban-donates-10-million-to-montreal-childrens-hospital/ So, Subban donated $10 million to a hospital. I don't think I can hate him anymore.
Randall Flagg Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Isn't that why Rodrigues is here?Rodrigues isn't going to be on the big club, and played with jack for more than, what was it, six games? Five?
thewookie1 Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 That's a terrible reason for wanting a player, would you like Hendricks and Lewis and Mike Smith too? That isn't the sole reason..... He's young and put up 40pts last year, his second full NHL season. I have to agree with LGR though, no idea how we'd fit him on the roster at this point.

Ya, it makes sense to always be trying to acquire as many talented players as possible regardless of position, but at some point you have to focus on the areas of need and for us, that is RW and LHD. Hoss Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Slava Voynov opts for voluntary deportation and will return to Russia. Kings statement seems to mean they're under the impression his contract will automatically void: LOS ANGELES – On July 2, Slava Voynov entered a plea of no contest to domestic violence. Since that development, Mr. Voynov has been in the custody of the Seal Beach Detention Center and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. During this period of detention, the Los Angeles Kings decided he would no longer play for the team. The method by which we would ensure this outcome was something we carefully considered and we established a deadline of September 17 – the beginning of our 2015-16 training camp – to reach this outcome. Recently it became evident to us that our conclusion to this process would be to terminate Mr. Voynov’s Standard Player’s Contract. However, Mr. Voynov’s announcement today of his intention to leave the United States and return to Russia makes the termination unnecessary. As we have publicly stated since Mr. Voynov’s arrest last year, the Kings organization will not tolerate domestic violence. As part of that commitment, we will soon announce a series of new Conduct Awareness Training Initiatives that reflect the values and principles central to our franchise. I don't think I can hate him anymore. Same same. The Sedins donated a huge wad of cash to Vancouvers childrens hospital ( If I remember correctly it was in the 10 million ballpark ) where my son was treated for about 5 years so I am grateful to athletes that give back to their communities.

Nobody outside of LA believes any of this, right? No way they terminate his contract if he can reasonably play for them this year.
