Because of Julien's pedigree or is there another angle there?

1.  name ends in -ien

2.  coached there before

3.  knows the Bruins inside out

4.  francophone

5.  lots of pressure to fire Therrien anyway

6.  yeah, he won a Cup and got to the finals once more

Montreal won't hire anybody that's not a French-Canadian. Their choices are limited.

Montreal won't hire anybody who isn't a francophone, but they'd hire Julien.

He qualifies in that regard.

Born in the francophone part of Ontario, near Ottawa, and is of French Canadian heritage.

I think the Canadiens and probably the Senators would hire him in a heartbeat.

Lots of talk in Vancouver about Benning bringing in Julien.

Also, talk that they have had enough of Ryan Miller, as well.

I'd have to imagine Julien could find a more attractive landing spot than that dumpster fire the 'Nucks have going.

Don't know the teams he has been linked to ...   nucks, canadiens, ottawa all look bad to me.

If he is lucky hitchcock gets fired from St Louis.

Fair prices on both. I feel pretty good about my Risto at $5.5 prediction now.

I think it is a good ballpark. I know that Risto cited another defender who's name escapes me as the type of contract he would be happy with. It was in that 5.5 x 6 year deal

Dammit!

Don't worry, Bergeron and Krecji are another year older. Their demise has begun.  They could have helped their situation but that draft where they drafted 3 in a row didn't help them.

wasn't that just last year?

I think so. All I know is they took a late 1st round guy and a mid second round guy 14th and 15th overall.  It was some terrible drafting. They passed on both Matthew Barzal and Kyle Connor. Although there is more to life than points, it is interesting to see 1 year out.

Jake DeBrusk: 12g, 27a, 39pts, 37games (4th year in WHL)

Zachary Senyshyn: 45g, 20a, 65pts, 66games (OHL)

Matthew Barzal: 27g, 61a, 88pts, 58ames (WHL)

Kyle Connor: 35g, 36a, 71pts, 38games (NCAA)
