Sabres Fan in NS Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Over under on Toronto throwing a pick to TBL for Stamkos' rights in June. I'd put it at a 4.5 rounder. Discuss! :) TP has been known to authorize such things in the past. I bet he would not try such non-sense with TM, 'cus he knows what Mr. Murray would say. As for Toronto ... a 4.5 rounder would be about right.

MattPie Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 I don't think teams can do that anymore. I believe that only the team who had him at the deadline can sign him before July 1. Curses, I wanted to see Toronto throw a pick like that and then see Stamkos sign for less money than Toronto offers somewhere else. They'd have to find a more extreme headline than the "Ultimate Insult" one they pulled out for Gorges signing here.
Cereal Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 I don't think teams can do that anymore. I believe that only the team who had him at the deadline can sign him before July 1. Has it changed since the Sabres did that with Ehrhoff (if I remember correctly...)?
ubkev Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Sens and Blues just when 21 shooters without a goal in the shootout. Berglund wins it on shooter 22. It was like watching every Sabres shootout this year with the other teams dubbed out.
JJFIVEOH Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Rinaldo got 5 games for a hit to the head, Boston places him on waivers before he has his hearing. Can't the league negate that waiver so that Rinaldo has to serve his 5 games while taking up a roster spot? I don't think it's right that they can get away with those 5 games because they placed him on waivers before his hearing.

JJFIVEOH Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Exciting game! Sens down 3-0 to the Blues. Tie it up 3-3 with one second left in the game. 91 total shots, and then 21 straight shootout attempts before somebody finally scored. Blues win 4-3 by going 1 for 11 in shootout attempts. http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400815810
Eleven Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Has it changed since the Sabres did that with Ehrhoff (if I remember correctly...)? Yes. It's from the new CBA.

WildCard Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 Any1 know if there is a thread about upcoming world cup ? I'm sure it's somewhere hidden in page 3/4 of the board. Good luck finding it though, that search function doesn't help you out too much
tom webster Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 What the hell? Blackhawks score a goal in hockey town and half the lower bowl stands up and cheers! I thought that only happened in Buffalo.
WildCard Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Kane now has 88 points, beating Benn's Art Ross mark of 87 from last year. He's on pace for 109, the most since Malkin in 2011 No American born player has ever won the Art Ross Edited March 3, 2016 by WildCard
Thorner Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 McGinn scores in his debut. Definitely knows what he's doing around the net. He'll do well in Anaheim. Still wish we could have worked out a reasonable extension for him, but Murray tried and it wasn't a realistic option it looks like. I'll be rooting for him to get us that 2nd rounder.
Huckleberry Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gotta-see-it-subban-knees-kesler-in-the-face/ Subban knees kessler in the face while he is on the ground. Its so well done I don't even know if its intentional or not.
Hoss Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 Jamie McGinn with his second goal with as many games in Anaheim.
WildCard Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Jagr ties Gordie Howe for 3rd all time in points (11850). Anyone care to guess #2? Gretzky - 2857 ??? - 1887 Jagr/Howe - 1850 Huh, never realized Mario could have caught Gretzky if he stayed healthy. Edited March 4, 2016 by WildCard

Randall Flagg Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 Winner-winner Is anyone even close to those four?
ubkev Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Jagr would have had 2000 by now if he didn't leave for Russia, and have 2 lockouts during his career. Edit: Wait...3 lockouts! Edited March 4, 2016 by ubkev
WildCard Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 Ron Francis sits at 1798, and then there are 4 others in the 1700's. Real drop off occurs from Mario (1723) to Sakic (1641), which is smaller than it should be because Sakic played about 400 more games than Mario Jagr would have had 2000 by now if he didn't leave for Russia, and have 2 lockouts during his career. He probably would. The guy is an absolute monster Anyone care to guess the leading leader in points for active players? That might be easy, so guess the top 3. Hahaha, good luck with #3
