darksabre Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I hear there's another 4-6 inches of cotton forecast for tonight. I'm pretty sure Doc just quoted a Creedence song.
JJFIVEOH Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I'm pretty sure Doc just quoted a Creedence song. On purpose?
LTS Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I gotta admit, the band playing right into the introductions of the teams was pretty good. They'll never have a Super Bowl but the NHL is figuring it out. They must be starting to design the jerseys for these outdoor games, because this it the best looking one yet. ...and I hate red jerseys. The uniforms are very nice. I like the Wings especially with how the white gloves carry the length of the sleeve and provide an interesting look.

JJFIVEOH Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I found out what out Ehrhoff does in his spare time.
Eleven Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I just realized that there's a pretty big likelihood that no Canadian team will make the playoffs this year. Has that ever happened?
Hoss Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 I just realized that there's a pretty big likelihood that no Canadian team will make the playoffs this year. Has that ever happened? It hasn't happened while the NHL has had six Canadian teams. In 1970 the Habs and Leafs were the only Canadian teams and missed out.

There's still a shot that Ottawa can sneak in. Boston isn't a lock for anything. I could see them making it. You never know.

Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Why did they let John Lennon sneak into that photo? There's still a shot that Ottawa can sneak in. Boston isn't a lock for anything. I could see them making it. You never know. Now that they have added Varone, I'd say they are pretty much a lock to make it .......... ;)
Hoss Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 The Predators are really starting to come on. They've got points in each of their last nine games (6-0-3), including a current four-game winning streak. Three of those wins have come against Chicago, St. Louis and Florida (three of the top six teams in the league standings) by a combined score of 13-1. Ryan Johansen has helped but Filip Forsberg is really turning it on. He has two hat tricks in his last three games. The one concern was Pekka Rinne as he was struggling mightily early on, but he's turned it around suddenly. In his last five games he's 4-0-1 with a .974 save percentage (151 saves on 155 shots). If this team can complete the possible return of Scott Hartnell that has been rumored and Rinne can continue to be the great goalie he has been in the past then they might be a favorite despite the lower seeding.
Hoss Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Stalock (TOR), Berra (COL), Bourque (CBJ), Brown (SJ), Warsofsky (PIT), Cracknell (VAN), Rinaldo (BOS) on waivers. I know our tank was obvious and in the public, but, other than Pysyk, did we intentionally keep players who were clearly better than our current players off our roster?

Of course they will win this year since I had a lot of money on them last year.
Hoss Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Kinda crazy: the Lightning were only the second hockey team Victor Hedman had ever played for. He has since played for a KHL team (lockout) and the Finnish national team. (Didn't read the article but this is where he talks about it): http://playerstribu.ne/Hedman
WildCard Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Caps @ Blackhawks for a little Sunday hockey
IKnowPhysics Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Little Joey torches Jeremy Roenick.
TrueBlueGED Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Washington with some Sabres-esque defensive coverage there.

Huckleberry Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/will-blackhawks-be-stanley-cup-favourites-after-deadline/ They ask if the hawks are the favourites to win it all after the deadline, oh man reporters. They were before the deadline, now they are the only ones who can lose the cup. Could have traded for him in NHL2000, but I refused because he had slime written all over him.

Like him or not, he's the kind of player the Sabres needed at the time. Someone willing to do the borderline things like the hit on Drury. Still not sure why Lindy thought Drury had been elbowed. His sending out Mair, Kaleta and Peters was pretty weak.
WildCard Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Very entertaining Kings-Ducks game on right now Edited February 29, 2016 by WildCard

I ####ing hate Chris Neil as an Ottawa Senetor. As a person, though, I would garauntee he's a good guy. Nobody stays around somewhere that long without having something to offer. And he can actually play.
