Marvelo Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 The fans speak! Schadenfreude for Yeo, Fletcher, Vanek, Pominville, Suter and the Wild... http://www.startribune.com/wild-gm-things-have-just-fallen-apart/368774851/#comments
Huckleberry Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) Simmonds is starting to look more and more like a punk, don't think I'd want him on the sabres. Zach Parise has one goal and is minus-14 in the past 13 games. Mikko Koivu has one goal in the past 20 games. Jason Pominville has one goal and is minus-7 in the past 22 games. Thomas Vanek has four goals in the past 25 games. Mikael Granlund has one goal with the goalie in net in the past 36 games. Nino Niederreiter and Jason Zucker have struggled remarkably. If your star players aren't getting it done.... The wild are also in a mess, they lost a lot of depth in their organization acquiring these players. There is no easy way out of this one, either hope these guys turn it around or 4-5 year rebuild might be the only option seeing their prospect pool is empty. Edited February 15, 2016 by Huckleberry
inkman Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Yep. Everything but the color and the logo. Then again, I like the Coyotes original jerseys and they are pretty universally reviled, so what do I know? I've never understood what the coyotes arms are doing in that jersey. It looks like he's trying to dig with a hockey stick.
SwampD Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 I've never understood what the coyotes arms are doing in that jersey. It looks like he's trying to dig with a hockey stick. I think he's actually trying to fish out a bad pass in his feet. Also, why was he shot through the chest with a cannonball?
apuszczalowski Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Miller last night, for retro jersey night in Vancouver. I like that they changed everything including his pads and the mask Yep. Everything but the color and the logo. Then again, I like the Coyotes original jerseys and they are pretty universally reviled, so what do I know? I like those jerseys too, would love to find a Briere Jersey in those

We infected the Wild with our rotten core just like we infected the Islanders for one year, the Blues for their playoff run, and now the Jets. But people keep coming back and taking pieces from that core, it amazes me Edited February 15, 2016 by WildCard
Huckleberry Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Goes back the previous game, he suckerpunched McDonagh and got thrown out of the game. Mainly the reason the two rangers wanted him so badly.
Hoss Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Interesting... Chris Peters: Noticed today that the leading scorer in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, NCAA, OHL, QMJHL and (obviously) USHL is an American. ????????????????

This may be the only day ever where this is true! Edited February 15, 2016 by Eleven
MODO Hockey Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 WC, or anyone ..Do you guys still believe? in playoffs that is. Tell me the truth
MattPie Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) WC, or anyone .. Do you guys still believe? in playoffs that is. Tell me the truth This year? Almost no chance barring something like losing 3 games for the rest of the season. So no, it's not going to happen. Edited February 15, 2016 by MattPie
Eleven Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 WC, or anyone .. Do you guys still believe? in playoffs that is. Tell me the truth It can't happen this year, but I'm not rooting for anything but wins. Had a blast yesterday.
Stoner Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Where was Ottawa this time last year?
Randall Flagg Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Where was Ottawa this time last year? On 2/15/15, they were 22-22-10 and 9 points back.
Stoner Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 On 2/15/15, they were 22-22-10 and 9 points back. Thanks.
Randall Flagg Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Thanks. Yep. We've played 3 more games and are 12 points back, so an identical run would get us close to where they ended up, depending on what Tampa/Boston/Jersey/Pittsburgh do. I stopped imagining the possibility of playoffs during that 6 game losing streak, but I'd still love a strong finish.
Taro T Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 WC, or anyone .. Do you guys still believe? in playoffs that is. Tell me the truth I didn't believe in them when the team was playing at the pace I'd expected. ;) Still believe they can finish up in the 80's which will be a good 10-15 points out. So, no playoffs, but they could head into the off season knowing they're on the right track. And if they aren't, and end up around 73 points; punt DB, bring in a coach that can work w/ these guys and enjoy the show next year.
WildCard Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 WC, or anyone .. Do you guys still believe? in playoffs that is. Tell me the truth Is it realistic? Not really. But I'll root for this team like they're in 8th place. 2 years of consecutively hoping your team goes 0-82 really blows. It's great to root for wins and be unrealistic just for the sake of entertainment
Thorner Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 I caught that earlier. This may be the only day ever where this is true! And probably likely to happen more in the future, with the rate at which things are going in regards to promising young American players.
JJFIVEOH Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 That streak did get Ottawa 99 points which is 5-6 points more than what is generally accepted as being the cutoff.
MattPie Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 25 games left, 52 points. To get to 93, that's 41 points. Let's call that 19-4-2. Not likely, the Sabres can only leave 10 points on the table before it becomes unlikely they end up #8.. Even 80 is 28 points, so 12-11-4, which seems reasonable give the current team, but deadline selling probably makes that optimistic.
Hoss Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Rob Scuderi placed on waivers by the Blackhawks. They acquired him in exchange for Trevor Daley not too long ago. Daley was the centerpiece to the Patrick Sharp deal. Rough maneuvering for Chicago there.

Daley was the centerpiece to the Patrick Sharp deal. Rough maneuvering for Chicago there. This is what happens when you give 3rd liners 2nd line money, and above average goaltending very good money. I wonder if that blue line ends up biting them in the playoffs this year (assuming they don't get it fixed).
MattPie Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Coyotes add to the Ryan Vinz club: http://coyotes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=869074
That Aud Smell Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 i wonder if they brought in battista to give the guy the nod.
