Weave Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Semantics.     What's the purpose of you posting this aside from attempting to put somebody down? Yeeeeeeap. Jack put up similar number with much worse linemates. Hyperbole sucks.
Hoss Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I know Friedman reported yesterday that Edmonton brass said they will absolutely not be moving Eberle because of how he's fit with McDavid so well. My guess is that they'll be dealing Nuge this offseason for a dman. I wonder if they talk to Minnesota about Nuge for Brodin +?
inkman Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 You really wouldn't go to an outdoor game? If it's 80 degrees, with 30 minutes of my house with free beer then yes, yes I would go to an outdoor game. Freezing my dick off for 3+ hours, drinking 10 dollar beers and driving 90 minutes to watch what will look like bubble hockey from my seat, no thanks.

My guess is that they'll be dealing Nuge this offseason for a dman. I wonder if they talk to Minnesota about Nuge for Brodin +? Everything I've heard points to RNH gone, and probably Yak too. They want to have Mcdvaid and Drasaitl as the 1-2 punch there, and jet off RNH for a #1 d-man as you say. I would love, love to get RNH or Hall, but I haven't heard anything of Hall being available, and RNH will cost Risto level. Is Brodin really that good? I think RNH gets moved at the draft, so off the top of my head, teams that could have the ammo for him and would be interested, would be: Philly, St.Louis, and Anaheim. To go along with the Wild of course. And, the Wild could offer some real nice vets to the Oilers too. With Yeo fired and Pommers/Vanek not doing too much, they could be in line for a major roster overhaul. I read somewhere that their in some serious cap trouble, and Koivu may become available too If it's 80 degrees, with 30 minutes of my house with free beer then yes, yes I would go to an outdoor game. Maybe it's because I'm just young and stupid, but that sounds awesome to me
inkman Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Age has a lot to do with it. My old ass doesn't want anything unless it's on my term. This is why I'm always grumpy, I never get anything like that. :)

Yeeeeeeap. Jack put up similar number with much worse linemates. You have been oozing hyperbole lately. From interpreting the "Toews is the 8th best player in the league" as "the board has turned on Toews!" to the Stamkos stuff, and now this. I know you've been programmed to produce scorching hot takes to attract clicks, but it gets tiresome here.
Hoss Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) I know you've been programmed to produce scorching hot takes to attract clicks, but it gets tiresome here. This couldn't be further from the truth, but hell, just throw it out there and hope nobody notices. If you haven't noticed I've been railing against the local media for some time around here for all this "hot takes" and "meme-y" . It's all a joke. There's a ton of great reporting throughout the state and country, but boy do the local reporters love themselves. My current role has zilch to do with clicks. Edited February 14, 2016 by Hoss
Randall Flagg Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Miller last night, for retro jersey night in Vancouver.
inkman Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Miller last night, for retro jersey night in Vancouver. Those sweaters make me think of Trevor Linden, Cliff Ronning and Pavel Bure in NHL 94. I played with Vancouver all time. That line was unstoppable.

inkman Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 This. I used to trade for Bure as well. A line a Bure-LaFontaine-Mogilny was too much fun. When I got real good I would see if I could score more than a goal a minute. Don't think I ever did but had plenty of 30 & 40 goal games.

Wyldnwoody44 Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Those sweaters make me throw up in my mouth a little.I love those sweaters. I also like collecting vintage jerseys too, but I like the color scheme and think they are wayyyyyyyy better than the current Vancouver one
Hoss Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I like them for the vintage touch but otherwise they're ugly. Wear them once for the $$$ and the nostalgia then never again
bunomatic Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 McDavids first shootout attempt was totally underwhelming. Normally he is coming in with so much speed when he carries the puck and that is one of his many strengths so on his first shootout attempt he slows it down to a crawl and ...it was just bad. Jitters ? Also why is it his first attempt ? Odd coaching decision to not use him in that situation before imo.
Weave Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I am amazed that so many shootout participants come in at slow speed. I would think that speed would be an advantage here. Expecially with the goalies conditioned to slow speed attempts.
Hoss Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I'm going to guess McDavid has never played in a game that featured a shootout.
bunomatic Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I'm going to guess McDavid has never played in a game that featured a shootout. Good point. Watching the highlights last night all they said was it was his first ever attempt.

Expecially with the goalies conditioned to slow speed attempts. It drives me nuckin futs. As soon as I see these big sweeping circles from shoot out participants I expect it to go in about 1% of the time.
WildCard Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Flyers - Rangers on national tv. About to be some fights for the Simmonds incident Pretty meh fight. I expect Simmonds will get into another one 2 fights in the first minute. Big hitting, and actual emotion. Fun game so far
Huckleberry Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gotta-see-it-simmons-mcilrath-trade-fists-after-jawing-during-warmups/ Link to the simmonds fight, seems they were already having a word during warm ups. Weak fight though.
Thorner Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 It drives me nuckin futs. As soon as I see these big sweeping circles from shoot out participants I expect it to go in about 1% of the time. ROR does this when he's in the shootout, and I feel like it never works. I'm sure he could change it up to something more effective.
ubkev Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Miller last night, for retro jersey night in Vancouver. These jerseys are beautiful. Everything about them.
Doohicksie Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 These jerseys are beautiful. Everything about them. Yep. Everything but the color and the logo. Then again, I like the Coyotes original jerseys and they are pretty universally reviled, so what do I know?
WildCard Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) There's just way too much going on in the old Yote's jersey. I love their new ones though. So nice Edit: Actually, I liked their last year ones, without that stupid section of black on the arms Edited February 15, 2016 by WildCard
