Am I the only one genuinely bored of the very idea of outdoor games?

The first one they did in Edmonton, then the one in Buffalo were nice. Since, ugh.

I have said it since like the third or 4th that the gimmick was getting old, I don't even watch them anymore.

I think the outdoor games should be reserved for January 1.  They started that way, and might have become the New Years Day game to watch comparable with the NFL games on Thanksgiving.  I wouldn't mind seeing 2-3 outdoor games on New Years Day, but don't do them any other day.

Watching the Dallas market replays and all I can say is:  Jamie Benn is some player.

I love the outdoor games, but they need to keep the teams fresh. Or AT LEAST the matchups. The Wings and Leafs AGAIN?

That just means they got good numbers the first time.

Oilers fans have got to be annoyed watching Letestu be the player that carries the puck up the ice every time they're on the power play. McDavid zooms behind the net but leaves the puck for the defenseman to take, like Eichel does, but he never gets it back. It's gone to Letestu all game, and needless to say, no chances are generated.

Mike Yeo finally fired by the Wild

About time. Now, let's sit back and watch that roster implode

And stuff keeps happening. Yeo fired in MN...

######, Hoss. Really, that gets censored? Huh.

Expected outdoor slate next season:

Edmonton at Winnipeg in October 2016

Detroit at Toronto on January 1, 2017

Blackhawks at Blues on January 2, 2017

No, you're not crazy... The Leafs and Wings did play an outdoor game against each other just two years ago on January 1st.

So, we're really going to have to wait until 2020 to get a Outdoor game? Jesus

Outdoor games are more or less garbage. Rejoice that your team is not implicated...

No way, man. I love those things. Between that and the ASG, apparently the NHL only markets to me

Seriously though, I want the Sabres to be in the national spot light, and I want to go to that game. Get absolutely obliterated and watch the Sabres in the Ralph??? Doesn't get any better than that

Well, hopefully the NHL plays nice and we get one in 2018 to coincide with the World Juniors.

Well, you and 12 year olds :nana:

Something tells me Bettman is all about 12 year olds

In all fairness, most twelve-year olds are over it.

You really wouldn't go to an outdoor game?

Too much of a good thing, is a bad thing.

They've turned it into a circus. Sometimes you just need to know when to say when.

Hey guys,

Could anyone of you care to explain to me regarding endorsement deals?
How does this work, does the player and club share 50 / 50 ?

Lets say coca cola comes and want to sponsor ROR, how does it work?

ROR gets all of the money.

Whether ROR can wear his Sabres gear in a photo or in a video will depend on what deal Coca-Cola might have in place with the Sabres and/or the NHL, and will also depend on what similar deals Coca-Cola's competitors might have.

actually, they didn't start that way. The first one in the recent NHL was Calgary v Edmonton, except they didn't call it "winter classic" it was a "Heritage Classic"

It was then like a year or 2 layer that Buffalo was the first in the January 1St traditional game

I know everybody has been feeling down a little bit lately because McDavid has 9-15-24 in 20 games so far, but consider this: in the 20 games he played from December 15th to February 3rd, Jack Eichel put up 7-14-21. Both the Sabres and the Oilers were 8-11-1 in the 20 games McEichel played in.

That's 29-57-86 in 82 games for Eichel and 37-62-99 in 82 games for McDavid. Still a step above but nice to see our guy can put up big numbers in a 20-game spurt, too. We'll see if McDavid can sustain this over the rest of the year, though.

Huh?

Have you not been around these parts? Several posters were bemoaning our bad luck in the lottery because of the numbers McDavid is putting up... Go back to page 103 if you really care enough to question it.

Well, he's not wrong.

Still, single talents don't get Cups. Also, Jack's line mates blow ass.

Several = everybody.  :rolleyes:

Semantics.

What's the purpose of you posting this aside from attempting to put somebody down?

Which makes me so excited for this trade deadline. I know he won't get any immediate help at it, but we should get a much clearer view into what Murray plans, and where we'll be drafting. It's not even what we do, but what Edmonton does with Hall, Yak, Eberle; what Arizona and and Toronto do, etc. There are a ton of very interesting question marks coming into this deadline, and I am stoked for it.
